Thank you doesn’t do justice the gratitude I have for the support and love surrounding this work. It has brought me connection to the🔺, myself, others and the world. ROCKABYE has been a place of homecoming and discovery for me and I can’t wait to share the ritual of care, unmasking and healing by airing out the ‘mess’. Today would have been Mrs Mangiamele’s 104th birthday.

Dorotea Mangiamele (nee, Hoffman) opened Mangala Studios of Yoga and Creative Dancing at 73 Grattan St, Carlton in 1970.

Happy birthday, Mrs M. We hold this place with care.

Wow, just wow. My soma is so full after the most delicious time facilitating somatic workshops at @restival.retreat ~ a weekend of movement, breath, nourishment, and sound. And best of all, connecting and co-regulating with the most divine humans.

A big thank you to @zev_tropp for creating such a magical experience, and to @conscious_practice for your knowledge and playful creativity.

REST, CONNECT, RECOVER.

Nervous system support for the Iranian and Swana Diaspora

WHAT TO EXPECT

Guided by Nat and co-facilitated by Albee, this session combines guided meditation, breathing exercises, gentle movement, somatic practices and floor-based restorative Yin Yoga shapes supported by bolsters and blankets.

The intention is to offer much-needed rest and replenishment for for Diaspora of regions affected by the illegal war waged on the Swana region.

This practice is designed to help regulate the support your system and invite a more easeful, rested state of being. The class is beginner-friendly, trauma and culturally sensitive, and guided with invitational language, focusing on how you feel rather than how the shapes look.

6:15 - 6:45pm - Discussion and movement practice w/ Nat
6:45pm - 7:30pm- Restorative Yin yoga w/ Albee

FIRST WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT!

Superstars and dear friends @conscious_practice of @greenmondaystudios and @soma_practice will be offering their Verdant Body workshop at @restival.retreat.

Description:
Rooted in eco-somatics, this 90-minute practice offers space to remember the body as part of the living world. Through embodied movement, breath, visualisation and sensory awareness, we’ll tune
into the rhythms, cycles and elements stirring within and around us.

The class blends a mix of Albee and Jodi’s work in meditation, yoga asana, energising pilates movements, breath work, and somatic practices such as shaking. Optional sound release and guided free-form movement offer space for personal expression and release. They offer a trauma-informed, invitational teaching style to their classes, fostering a supportive and adaptable environment.

Albee and Jodi are thrilled to bring this practice to the lands of Waddawurrung for Restival, tending the living exchange between body and place, holding both self and land in their verdancy.
