From an idea in my notes app 5 years ago to the @thetodayshow extra with @ninecomau… What?! 🥹

Nine months of creating, designing, filming, collaborating with 38 wonderful humans and figuring out how on earth to independently publish a book… and now Soulfull is on national television.

I got to chat about everything behind this little project food, art, storytelling, community and, most importantly, the impact we hope to make with @ozharvest , @goodandfugly and more.

Still processing this one 🥹

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take Soulfull onto national television with the @thetodayshow Extra with @ninecomau

Nine months of creating, designing, interviewing, cooking, crying (a little), and bringing together some truly wonderful humans led to this moment.

But this has never been about simply making a cookbook. It’s about the people behind our food, the stories we carry, and how something as simple as sharing a meal can make a difference.

Let me say this now, you can’t do everything alone.
If it weren’t for my dearest humans, I wouldn’t have gotten to the point of saying, I have published a book and I am now an author.

The doubt, the fear, the anxiety and imposter syndrome is BIGGER than I could ever express with words.

It’s made me realise even more how important community, family and creativity are, which is woven into each page of this publication.

For some reason, I had this idea in my Notes app five years ago and I couldn’t ignore it. So yes, I had to follow this path.
But gosh, I couldn’t do it without the ones cheering me on from the sidelines.

For someone that loves her stuff, her home, plans and routine...this next moment was so not like me and very unhinged. Yes it was scary, but also it was a big f**k yes to just going for it and trusting a path that unfolds for you rather than meticulously orchestrating every minute.

So yeah...packing up my entire life into one bag, living a COMPLETELY UNCONVENTIONAL LIFE… some would say I am crazy, but the right ones knew it was what I needed to do.
So thank you for supporting my delulu, my endless voice notes, asking you to be a design team when you aren’t.
But most of all, just supporting my vision and seeing my passion behind it all.

30 today. And somehow, officially, an author. 🥹

Two years ago a little green frog became this weird good luck omen telling me to take the leap. So I did.

Nine months, 38 incredible people, a lot of delusion, stress, creativity and heart later, Soulfull exists.

I wanted to make something more than a cookbook. Something art-led, full of human stories, beautiful enough to keep, and able to do some genuine good too.

Pretty bloody surreal.

In 2021 I wrote on my notes app an idea to create a cookbook with recipes and people I love.

Five years later and I DID IT!!!!! Never would I have imagined it to be what it is now, but gosh I can’t wait to bring this to you all.

Did I realise what this would entail...no, not really. But I now have a true understanding to what blood, sweat and tears mean.

This has been such an intense year for me, so whilst this is all going live I’ve decided to take time off socials a tad and celebrate my 30th rotation around the sun + work to reset after this massive journey ❤️

30 days ago, I started sharing what happened when I stopped waiting for certainty and decided to bet on myself.
But there was one very big part of the story I hadn’t properly shown you yet.

For the last nine months, I’ve been making this.

Soulfull.

More than a cookbook.

A collection of food, art, stories and people, created to make an impact beyond the page.

It has taken me across places, kitchens, studios and conversations. It has brought together incredible contributors, artists, makers and partners. And every copy sold helps provide 16 meals through @ozharvest

The book is only one part of it.

There’s the podcast. There are the stories. There are the people. 
And there’s {plentyfull} bringing it all around the table with @tommypanini

This whole 30-day experiment started with me saying f**k it and backing an idea before I knew exactly where it would lead. Turns out, it led here.

Getting so emotional writing this and realising what this journey has been. Nine months ago I packed up my home in Sydney, put my life into one backpack to give this dream a real shot… and it’s allll for tomorrow.

How do I summarise these nine months? Is it ready? What if no one likes it? Have I taken a huge risk for nothing? Backing yourself, trusting your gut and chucking in a dash of delusion. Apparently that’s how (didn’t have any other choice tbh).

I left what I thought was my dream life. Slept in many houses, looked after many dogs, lived in a villa in Indonesia. Worked on planes, trains, buses, boats (dodgy as) and family dining tables.

Basically, I said f**k it, and I changed my horizon so this project could FINALLY have one.

I wrote chapters and took interviews from bedroom floors and hotel rooms. Took meetings with a smile right after a crash out with a snotty nose and red eyes. Woke at 1am with another thing to do, another idea I HAD to add. Some days I couldn’t design. Others I couldn’t leave the screen.

I cried more than I ever have.
A few public breakdowns lol.
Five panic attacks.
Endless Epsom baths and ceremonial cacaos to try and chill me out.

At one point I thought I was losing my hair.
I questioned everything. But my people kept reminding me to keep, fucking, going. Framing nine months in comparison to the rest of my life kinda helped.

And then... 38 people became the heart and soul of this project (lol, I did not calculate the project management side of that). Incredible people doing good and spreading their creativity, intertwined in every single page across the nation.
Still laughing that I handed my whole life to this book and decided to self-publish too. Was I an author? No. Am I now? Yes. Amongst many new hats…(eye twitching)

If I could bottle the feeling of finishing it, I would.

The HARDEST nine months of my life. And something I told my notes app four years ago is out tomorrow…(my stomach just twisted writing that).

SO yeah, TOMORROW this book is all yours. I hope you love it <3

29 days ago, I decided to see what would happen if I stopped waiting for certainty and started backing myself properly.

Not when I felt ready. Not when I had proof. Not when everything made sense. Just now.

Some posts worked. Some absolutely did not.

Some ideas got stronger. Some completely changed.

But the biggest shift wasn’t the numbers. It was proving to myself that I could keep showing up while I was still figuring it out. I’m not at the end of anything. But I’m definitely not where I started.

For a long time, I thought I was building too many different things.

A creative studio.A podcast. A publishing project. A platform for people + planet.

Now I can see they’re not separate things competing for attention. They’re chapters of the same idea.

CO:TALKS creates conversations around building differently. 
Soulfull 👀 turns those values into something tangible. 
How Good gives those ideas somewhere to live and grow.
It finally feels less like chaos and more like an ecosystem.

There is something wildly useful about believing in an idea before you have any evidence that it’s going to work.
I built 60 days of content before I knew whether people would care.

Before the views. Before the engagement. Before I knew what would land. Before there was any proof that this whole experiment made sense.

Was that slightly delusional? Probably. But sometimes “being realistic” just means waiting for external proof before you give yourself permission to commit.

And you can’t always get proof until you’ve built the thing.

Every creative decision makes something easier for someone and potentially harder for someone else.

Who gets represented. Who understands it. Who can access it. What gets normalised. What gets left out. Design isn’t just how something looks.

It influences what people notice, trust and choose.
