Somewhere between Spyro, Pokémon, Halo and MW2, we left a little piece of ourselves. Coming home from school and turning on the console before taking off your backpack, carrying your DS everywhere, staying up at sleepovers playing split-screen and arguing over whose turn it was. Memory cards, cheat codes, scratched discs and “one more game” until somebody’s mom made us go to bed. We thought we were just playing, but those ordinary afternoons became the memories we’d give anything to visit again.. 🧘‍♀️

Sam Puckett was one of the most chaotic characters Nickelodeon ever made.

When iCarly debuted in 2007, Sam was loud, aggressive, food obsessed, and had zero interest in being a model kid, which is exactly why she stuck with people. Years later, Jennette McCurdy revealed a darker story behind the role in her 2022 memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, writing about the pressures of child acting, her controlling mother, and her complicated time at Nickelodeon.

Sam was pure chaos, but for a whole generation she was also one of the defining TV characters of the 2000s.
