Final January 2025 Miami dump 🥟 featuring a relaxing day at the standard spa with a bestie, eating at an Indian restaurant with Timeleft folks and having an authentic experience in Wynwood, exploring murals and sticker slaps of Wynwood, seeing an old college friend and doing an art walk, seeing as much as I could 🎨 spending time with my dad in southern Florida, recognizing Chicago graffiti artist in the streets, finding mixed media art and cool wall paper 🖼️

🧶TᑌᖴTᑕOᑎ🧶

TuftCon23 left me feeling so energized and inspired that my stomach has been buzzing all week with that itch to create. I met so many incredibly kind & encouraging humans from all over the world…the WORLD y’all…Fiber folks traveled from all over to come spend a weekend getting down with their fellow art peeps. I came back to IN with new friends from Miami, Hawaii, The Dominican Republic, CA, Oregon, Mexico, OH, MI, Boston, New York, Brazil, and of course Philly 🫶🏼.

I was blown away by the care that @tuft_the_world ‘s team put into each aspect of the convention. It is so apparent that their focus is on inclusion, and accessibility, and people. Their hearts are on the sleeves and they are living what they preach. Building impactful and community based things IS possible, it just takes a shit ton of mindful work to obtain it. It felt so cool being apart of the first convention of this kind (tufting) in an atmosphere like this.

I soaked up as much as I could during this trip. It was filled with specific & unique education, insights, loud laughs, a glutinous amount of great food ;), serious amounts of nerding out about art, and a fresh eye on expectations.

I feel like I’ve come so far since I started tufting, and at the same time it feels like this is just the beginning..and that’s a pretty magical space to be in. I am now entering my 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐫𝐚.

Thank you Fort Wayne for sending me to Philadelphia to learn more about this world. I am so grateful for the love you have shown me and the belief you have in my art.

Thank you Tim & Tiernan, and the rest of the TTW fiber fam for one hell of a weekend.
