POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Happy 1st birthday to The Breakup Variety Hour!! This little experiment of an album and one woman show has brought me so much joy and so many new experiences. 16 cities, 5 countries, over 70 shows, 4 festivals and so many bad date stories.

This photo dump is deeply earnest, so strap in if you swipe.

I had so many incredible collaborators who helped make this show and album real, people who didn’t tell me this idea was kooky but jumped in with me. I’ve done my best to represent the process in this little dump and tag all the incredible people responsible for making this with me.

If you’ve come to a show, streamed a song, watched a video, thank you for jumping into this world with me. 🩷

I had a bunch of piano demos and @spencerzahn was the first person to jump in to flush these ideas out together. He put an amazing group of musicians together and we recorded live versions over a week in LA @altamirasound

@andyhighmore took the live recordings and we built the first iteration of the live show, just background vocals, guitar and piano (see next slide for that).

First version of the show live @joespub

I could fill a whole album with @harloemusic. This album wouldn’t exist without her. She is a true soul sister and we co-wrote and ideated so many things on this record together. Mostly we just had a lot of fun ✨

I papered my exes neighborhood with my album artwork the week of the release 🤭

I made the I Just Came to Say Goodbye video in my house, by myself. 8 set ups. It was kind of deranged of me to do but I loved it.

We shot 7 videos in one day for the visual album. Not pictured is my other soul sister @scarletinni who made all of this with me. Shot by @endochrome_ , who has been making me look good for literally 10 years.

Full visual album is on YouTube if you want to watch it.

Album release show 1 year later @joespub ✨

Daytime TV debut on @kellyclarksonshow!! Shout out to @jcpagejc who’s been shouting about me for 7 years. Best PR a girl could dream of.

London headline show @crazycoqs ✨

About 10 years ago, around 2016, my good sister and friend @ayanamac asked me if I had a song for her.

I reached into my “song chest” and pulled this one out.

Then she did what only she could do, she took the song to another level with the way she delivered it.

This was recorded live in Boston, MA, and produced by Vancil Cooper. @coop_did_it_
It’s always a blessing to look back and see how God has allowed songs written in one season to continue impacting people in another.

Grateful for the journey, the music, and the memories. ❤️🎶
