Whatever the month…YOU are BELOVED.

If you need reminding, reach out to one or both of us. We have plenty of love to give and know, beyond the shadow of a doubt that you deserve every bit of it.

For those of you who have been hurt, erased, overlooked, and deliberately put in harms way…we have an extra portion.

Send doreen or Cora a DM and she’ll send you a little audio message to remind you of just how cherished you are.

Here’s something that’s fun! Tomorrow @thebendcentraldistrict is having a block party, and my new haircut and I get to sing as @austincomfort in the afternoon, and then my wig and I get to sing as @cora.justcora in the evening! I’ll be there on behalf of the @thegreenhousecabaret and @somewhere_thats_green!
There’s gonna be so many fabulous performers and artists and artisans, weather be damned!
(Feels wild to post this in the middle of the night but I’ve been having a wild last few days that warrants it 😂)

(These emojis were the closest I could get to that elusive color…)
Swipe to see the color wheels and such I had to use to figure out what colors went with it 😂

Happy to announce that I’ve had some work done. How do I look?

April fools!

These are some images from my 60th birhtday party where the unbelievable @austincomfort surprised me by showing up as “drag doreen!”

Y’all…this was, perhaps, the most meaningful gift I’ve received in a very long time! I’ve known Austin since he was in high school and have witnessed his brilliance in so many spaces…theatrical ones, musical ones, relational ones, and more.

Austin’s talent is boundless and, what’s really remarkable is, so is his heart! I witness him honoring composers, friends, communities, and the vulnerable among us all the time. To have him honor me in this way (I always said I wanted to be present for his first time out in drag and this was it) is a profound honor.

Since my party Austin has introduced the world to @cora.justcora who is the queen we all need!

As a delayed birthday gift, might you all hop over and follow Cora (and hire her for all the drag events you dream of hosting…brunch, bingo, story time)!

It is my sincere belief that drag saves lives, offering the kind of joy and empowerment that other art forms and communities dream of embodying. Austin/Cora, thanks for what I know will be wild amounts of joy and positivity that you will offer the world in this new way! I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOU AND CHERISH OUR CONNECTION!

🍷💔 That’s good night for El Chupacorazón this year, at least for now! She’ll miss you (yes YOU, specifically) but as always she’ll be lying in wait ready to devour your heartache and sorrow. She raises her glass of red wine vinegar to toast you- and as always, she loves you very much 💔🍷

El Chupacorazón dancing in her corner of doors (to the Donna Summer song ONLY THE FOOL SURVIVES, of course, for obvious reasons) doing the Dua Lipa and flossing and then scaring us to death cause I bumped a door and it opened 😂

❗️❗️❗️ Oh and while we’re at it making things clear and to be serious amidst all my foolishness, this sign has another side! Drag and art are inherently political, and in or out of drag I am ANTI ICE ❗️❗️❗️

Howdy! What the… El Chupacorazón posting on February SIXTEENTH too? That’s right, one final day! Especially challenging times call for an especially large quantity of foolishness, yeeeeee-HAW!

A lot of what I post on here (especially as this character) is very silly, but to be serious- with my layers of privilege as a cisgender white man I want to make sure I’m abundantly clear: in or out of drag, I support trans people and their rights! Trans people have always existed and they always will, and they deserve safety and support and autonomy! Fix your hearts!!!
🩷
Oh and by the way, don’t get it twisted- any attempt through legislation to ban drag or drag performance is a thinly veiled stepping-stone toward criminalizing the rights of trans people to present as themselves in public and should be resisted on every level!

(Love you, hang in there)
