POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to document voices from East Harlem during Fall of Freedom — hearing local artists share who they are, where they create, and what drives their work.

And when I say artists, I mean art in all its forms — visual art, music, performance, and creative expression.

There’s something powerful about simply giving people the space to tell their own stories, in their own words. Their work carries culture, identity, history, struggle, joy and the spirit of the community around them.

This is East Harlem, told through the voices of those who create here. @falloffreedom

🧹 KEEP EL BARRIO CLEAN

Being a Good Neighbor Starts on Our Block

El Barrio is more than where we live—it’s where we walk, shop, gather, raise our families, and look out for one another. Keeping our neighborhood clean is one small way each of us can show pride in the community we share.

A cup, food wrapper, or bag may seem like a little thing, but litter adds up quickly. Use a trash can, pick up after yourself, and encourage others to do the same. If you see a small piece of litter and can safely pick it up, that simple action helps too.

Clean streets shouldn’t just be someone else’s responsibility. Being a good neighbor means doing our part.

Pick it up. Throw it out. Keep El Barrio clean. 💙

The funny thing about purpose is that it rarely arrives with a map.

As I continue reflecting on elections, public service, and what the future may hold, I’m reminded that every opportunity I’ve had started with one small step forward.

To the young people still searching for your calling: don’t rush the process.

Explore. Learn. Serve. Grow.

Your purpose often finds you while you’re busy becoming the person you’re meant to be.

One stop at a time. 🚇❤️
