Exactly four weeks ago I was coming home from a camping trip in the PNW and just like that it’s OCTOBER! It feels like I just got home! Anyways, the shop is busy and the season is sort of winding down. We have many resto projects to stay busy this winter. September was great — Finn finally finished his Berd wheel build. I visited the new bike park in Mount Airy, so cute! Dominic finished up a 1934 Taylor tricycle. More upgrades for Finn who likes to do last minute shit to his bike before a CX race. Dominic built wheels for a vintage Colnago project. We cleaned up the shop and have a bunch of stuff to give to Vincent at Queen City Bike, and also Fuck Ice. Saved the best for last Anna 🩷. #spunbicycles

Join us this Saturday, October 3rd, for the Northern Kentucky Meet the Candidates Ride to learn more about local candidates and advocate for bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in Northern Kentucky! We’ve invited candidates running for all kinds of offices throughout Northern Kentucky to join us on a community bike ride to experience firsthand what infrastructure is working well and identify where safer, more connected facilities are still needed. Before we ride, candidates will have a few minutes to introduce themselves and share their vision for safer, more connected walking and bicycling in our region. We'll meet at @reserbicycle at noon, then head out on the ride together. The ride will be about 6-8 miles and no drop (no one gets left behind). Don’t have a bike? Cincy Red Bike has bikes available from nearby stations along Monmouth Street in Newport. Make sure to bring your own helmet! You can learn more about the event at tristatetrails.org

Caesar Creek Trail Celebration is this weekend. Here's the whole plan in one place. Friday you roll in, set up camp in the field under the water tower, and find the fire. Saturday at 10 the family friendly ride and the full trail ride both head out. Casual Cruisers leave at 12:30 for a loop of the intermediate trails, and we close the night with a potluck and campfire. Sunday is Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day with guest naturalist Madison from Play Wild. We're watching the weather. If the forecast changes anything, we'll update the event pages first, so check there before you head out. Free and open to everyone. Let us know if you have any questions! #CMBC #CincyMTB #CincinnatiMountainBiking #CaesarCreek

Saturday, Sept 26, Mt. Airy Forest throws the best backyard party in Cincinnati. Take a slow forest therapy walk that ends with tea, or head out with a UC tree scientist and the campus birders. Kids can flip creek rocks, meet live animals, and chase down a scavenger hunt. Try a disc golf putt or an adaptive mountain bike. Then grab a cold beer, a tamale from Jenn's Hot Tamale, a Honey Child pop, and settle in with The Foles. Free, 12PM–4PM. No gear needed. Sturdy shoes and water are plenty. Park at Cindee Walsh Circle, off Colerain Ave. Tag the friend who keeps saying they want to get outside more. #MtAiryTrailFest #MtAiryForest #CincinnatiOutdoors #cincinnatihikes #CincyFamilyFun

Most of the green you see along a Cincinnati trail in early spring is bush honeysuckle, and it is not supposed to be here. It leafs out first, shades out everything native underneath, and turns a forest floor into bare dirt. Brendan Bogosian from Cincinnati Parks Conservation and Land Management is leading a walk through what is native in Mt. Airy, what is not, and what volunteers and Parks staff are doing about it. 12:30 to 1:30.. #NativePlants #OhioNative #MtAiryForest #CincinnatiParks #TrailFest
