Thank you to everyone who came to our Catrina Contest in collaboration with Sol y Luna’s Fall Welcome! 💀🏵️🕯️

All the contestants looked absolutely incredible and we’re so happy to have had this celebration. Thank you @srrc.solyluna for your help and effort organizing this event.

🏵️ Congratulations to our winners, 🥇Juli, 🥈Natalia, & 🥉Estrellita, and all of the other participants. You all looked absolutely stunning, we loved hearing about the inspirations behind your looks and seeing all your effort.

It was beautiful to have you as we honor and celebrate our loved ones and plan for our own futures, highlighting the effort that it took you all as students to be in this space. Introducing our Community Solidarity Bridge

She/They

She is currently a 4th year transfer pursuing a degree in Chicanx Studies and Psychology.

The summer before her last year was transformative, full of many deaths and rebirths but she is grateful for being able to go back home to San Diego. She participated in an art show called Hojas de Maíz with her collab piece “Entrelazadas con Sintli” using hair and corn husk, and she began her work as a makeup and nail artist in various projects with Chicana photographers she admires. 🎨𓂃🖌Her highlight of the summer was returning to her family and community and remembering that even in the hardest moments, love will hold us together <3

September is here and I spent the last 3-4 months creating art & assisting with workshops at both my jobs. My dream life. 🦋🧿🤲🏽

Visited my hometown for the first time since December 2024.

Felt very full circle to be back after leaving in 2014.

Learned SOOO much about our legal system this summer. Endlessly grateful to Annie and @uprisetheatre for everything she’s taught me. ❣️
