“The poems in this collection exist at the wild crossroads of a Seattle-based intersection - you know the ones, where the cardinal directions, plus a few extras, decide to converge at one point, and no one knows whose turn it is to go, and so we all go, and we’re forced to encounter each other, and some of us freak out, and some of us laugh at the absurdity, and some are totally unphased by the chaos.

This work is a convergence of past, present and future, where poetry is liquid and we pour one out for the dead, who are very much present on the page, and where the living live in disbelief that they aren’t dead too. It’s where relentless pain meets relentless wonder, beauty is a gas station parking lot, and also an eagle.

There’s a party at this crossroads, or maybe it’s a car crash. You won’t know until you come a little closer.”

Literally too many photos from our wedding. What a gift this life w @emilyparzy. The ritual, the wonder, the play—which is the point of it all.
