114 YEARS OF ROOTS. GENERATIONS OF EXCELLENCE. ONE CHARLOTTESVILLE FAMILY!

Since 1912, Snow Knows Outdoor Living has been helping Charlottesville and Central Virginia grow, thrive and look beautiful!

What started with Leroy and Maggie Snow growing vegetables, flowers and plants on Carlton Avenue has blossomed into one of Central Virginia's most recognized family-owned landscaping and outdoor living businesses.

1912: Leroy and Maggie Snow plant the seeds of a Charlottesville legacy.

1936: The next generation expands the family business into Snow's Nursery.

1969: Snow's moves to its longtime home on Avon Street Extended.

Today: Led by Corbin Snow, the family business continues its tradition of transforming outdoor spaces through landscape design, beautiful gardens, custom patios, pools and outdoor living environments.

From planting trees on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall to creating extraordinary residential landscapes, Snow Knows has helped shape the community we call home!

More than a century of craftsmanship, family values and Charlottesville pride. That's a local business success story worth celebrating!

🏡 114 YEARS OF MAKING CENTRAL VIRGINIA MORE BEAUTIFUL. 🌳🔥

When you’ve been landscaping Charlottesville and Central Virginia since 1912, you learn a thing or two about creating outdoor spaces that stand the test of time.

We caught up with Trevor Chandler, Landscape Designer at Snow Knows Outdoor Living, to talk about how the Snow’s team can transform an idea for your property into an outdoor space your family can enjoy for years.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or upgrading what you already have, Snow Knows Outdoor Living is a go-to source for virtually any outdoor project:

🔥 Fire pits & outdoor gathering spaces
🔨 Patios, hardscapes & walkways
🏡 Seating & retaining walls
🌳 Hand-picked trees, shrubs & landscaping
🌱 Turf & lawn solutions
🏡 Complete landscape design & installation
✨ Full outdoor-living transformations

And there’s some serious Charlottesville history behind the name.

Snow’s was founded in 1912 by Leroy H. Snow and his wife, Maggie, who started a market garden on Carlton Avenue selling vegetables, flowers and plants to local stores and residents.

114 years later, Snow Knows is still family-owned and still helping Central Virginia families get more out of their properties.

From a single new patio or fire pit to a complete backyard transformation, the team can help you design it, select the right materials and plants, and build it.

📍 Snow’s Garden Center — 1875 Avon Street Extended, Charlottesville

What outdoor project would add the most value to YOUR home right now — a patio, fire pit, landscaping or something else?

My wife, @llynskey7, wanted grey hardscape (bricks, pavers & boulders) with our custom 275-square foot Keystone Panorama patio, Harrington seating wall and Keystone fire pit. Then, she wanted to complement the grey hardscape with hand-picked white plantings, including gorgeous white hydrangeas.

Here’s our Round 3, Option 1 design artwork for “The Charlottesville Ultimate Outdoor Makeover” by Snow Knows Outdoor Living! ❤️

@corbinsnowknows team, led by talented Landscape Designer @designs.by.trevor, have absolutely exceeded our expectations. The entire process is enjoyable. 🙏

I am documenting the flip book of the project to inspire others while showcasing the positive impact it will have on our family and home, especially the quality of life for my wife and our 8-year-old and 3-year-old sons. Our boys love to be outside, especially by the swimming pool and backyard. 💙💙

With high energy 8-year-old and 3-year-old sons by our side, my wife, @llynskey7, and I spend most of our time outside with our two rascals. 💙 💙

As a result, we want to design and develop more outside places to make memories with our boys. That’s why we asked @corbinsnowknows and his team at @snowsgardencenter to build a custom 275-square foot Keystone Panorama patio, seating wall and fire pit complimented by boulder accents, river surge, freshly laid sod and hand-picked plantings. 🔥 🪵 🌱

We recently met with Trevor Chandler, a landscape designer at Snow Knows Outdoor Living, and Jordan Proctor, our Snow’s project manager. These two gentlemen are talented, communicative, patient and experienced. They are pro’s pros! 💪 💡

As we progress through the design process, I’m going to document and share the flip book, which we are calling “The Charlottesville Ultimate Outdoor Makeover.” 🙌

My wife, Lauryn, has absolutely fallen in love with this design, “The Amber Oasis!” ❤️

Lauryn sees herself enjoying coffee in the morning before our rowdy boys wake up, or sipping cold cocktails while the boys are swimming in the pool. ☕️ 🍹

The Amber Oasis resonates with her, and that makes me happy. 💙

The Snow Knows Outdoor Living team visited our home to analyze our backyard and the spot we want our patio, fire pit and seating wall designed and developed. 🌞

Now, Snow Knows has provided their first round of design mockups. Here’s Round 1, Option 3. 🔥

Swipe 👉👉 to track the progress of the project, which will eventually feature a custom 275-square foot Keystone Panorama patio, a custom Harrington seating wall, a custom Keystone fire pit, hand-picked plantings, boulder accents, river surge and freshly laid sod right next to our swimming pool.

I’m documenting this project on The @ilovecville Network, including design renderings, design meetings, material selections, conversations with my wife and the @snowsgardencenter team and much more! You will see the flip book of “The Charlottesville Ultimate Outdoor Makeover” from start to finish!!

Let’s go!! 🧡💙
