Started the day with a coffee from @knead_bakery_patisserie ~ had to resist all the amazing pastries & buns! Followed by my first ever osteopath appointment at @origin_health_group ! This was amazing - I work a desk job so my posture is not great and I spend most of my days with my shoulders up by my ears so it was nice to be straightened out!

After this, I did a reformer Pilates class with @pilateswithaurora at the gorgeous @core_copilates studio! I've had a few weeks off reformer so the class was so nice to ease myself back into it!

Next up was a 1:1 coaching session at @padelshift with @christianoliver_padel ~ this was a lot of fun! I've only played a handful of times but I reckon I'm a pro now 😆😉

Lunch at @lardon_restaurant was a real treat! I wanted to order everything but went for a few picky bits! All of it was amazing but the Venison Ragu Pizzetta was insane! 👌🏼

And I finished my day at the beautiful @tylerandco.salon having a relaxing Moroccan Oil hair treatment & blow dry with @imogenjane.hair ☺️

Friday flow - mat

This week’s mat class was all about layers - Just a handful of sequences but layered right up.

Starting with a weighted core sequence which saw the core under tension for a solid amount of time as more and more layers were added. Of course finishing it all off with repeats. Next up - my faves: side teasers. Again, modifications and progressions given to suit you where you’re at (note to self, do not do with 1.5kg ankle weights on again 🫠). We then moved onto a 4 pnt kneeling lower body flow which worked the glutes from every angle and mobilised into the hip socket joint, final layer was a tough weighted balance which takes concentration and deep body connection. After doing it all on the other side we finished off with a barre-esque standing series to work the thighs.

Almost 10 years ago, I trained to teach Mat Pilates and it’s a qualification that has underpinned every class I’ve taught since.

After years of practising, teaching and falling even more in love with Pilates, I’m very excited to be going back to school… this time for Reformer!

I’ve officially started my Reformer Pilates training with the brilliant @reformer_fitness_academy, and I cannot wait to get stuck in, learn more, nerd out over all things Pilates and become an even better teacher along the way.

Here’s to continuing to learn, grow and share something I genuinely love with even more people!

Monday evenings.. Yeah, they’re not the best, but every cloud has silver lining..

At @corecycle_, we’re giving you that escape from the real world for 45 mins every Monday evening.

Sometimes you just need that time to yourself, to listen to some wicked music and have a little dabble on the bike.

Whether your legs are on the tired side or up for a bit of a challenge, Monday evenings are when we blow the weekend cobwebs out.

Friday flow - mat

A toughie this week. The last few classes have been focused on lower body so this week’s class was all about the core.

A non stop flow to start the class, seamlessly transitioning from side kneeling obliques, to 4 pnt kneeling and up to arabesque lunge. Obliques to start this non stop flow with added weighted upper body to put that core under a wee but more tension, we then move into a combo of leg and arm lift with a thread the needle to challenge core stability and balance, this non stop flow finishes with a static arabesque lunge some tricep work and a lil sprinkling of runners just for fun. The core gets a lil respite next with a quick upper body interlude which gets those shoulders ON. We come down to the mat again and into a long core series which sees us flowing through all of the roll up variations (you know they’re my fave), a diamond table top toe tap flow and a fun 3 part combo which challenges the brain too!
Juicy stretch to finish with a focus on the sides of the body to release tension from the obliques.

Fun fact - I once did these oblique moves so much I woke up the next morning thinking I had a kidney infection 🤣
