I heard @daniellebranding say this at our Parent Clinic for female athletes a few weeks ago, and it has stuck with me. And I’m applying it in various ways— as a parent AND as a coach.

“I love watching you play!” > “Just do your best!”
“I love watching you learn how to do this lift or skill!” > “Just do your best!”

You can meet the providers, tour the space, and join them to experience what makes Flourish Wellness Collective unique!

That moment I realized my thoughts can be derailed before they hop on the express train toward negative beliefs. 🚂

Just like everyone else, I often skip the chance to consider a different, intentional interpretation of my experiences. I let my expectations force me down the same ‘ol thinking track, which means autopilot, which means I’m caught in a loop of negative and sometimes destructive thinking patterns.

Opening my eyes and my mind to some new practices this week thanks to @punchdrunksoul

🎵 I don’t see nobody else / Scuze me while I feel myself 🎵

I’ll be honest. I thought Lizzo was saying “scuze me while I fill myself” and I’m like “hellz yah! Fill yourself.”

But she says “Feel myself” which means (to her) self love. And... isn’t that the same thing as saying “scuze me while I fill myself?”

So here I am mis-hearing a lyric, but sorta circling back around to the intended meaning.

I’m filling myself with fresh air, gardening, and run.

Do you make weekly plans to fill yourself? I think I’m gonna start.

How many of us say negative things to ourselves all. day. long?

Whether you’re aware of it or not, chances are: you’re probably pretty hard on yourself. We all are!

So let’s all take a moment (and in our Viola Davis voice) say some nice things to ourselves.
