“Go where you feel most alive” … for me (and many of us) mountain running is a return to home, a return to ourselves.
Fridays run, up on a ridge, I momentarily I wish I had gloves making me realize in a month summer will be officially over and it’s so bittersweet. With the short winter we had, this had felt like a long summer. On a few super spicy days, I’ve found myself looking forward to the cooler seasons ahead but soon remembered that come winter I’ll be missing access to all my favorite trails that will be closed with snow. Happy to be here now for whatever allows me to play in the mountains.

Dear Speedgoat,

You absolutely humbled me.

Some races end with an identity crisis halfway up the mountain. 😂 I questioned everything. My training. My nutrition. Whether I had any business showing up to Wasatch.

It’s wild how one hard day can make you forget all the good ones.

I got behind on calories, got absolutely wrecked by the heat, survived on watermelon, potato chips, and vomit, and at Mineral Basin I told them I was done.

Turns out… I wasn’t.

After a few days (and a little less self pity 🤣), I realized one bad race doesn’t erase months of work. Right? 😬

If anything, it reminded me that grit isn’t pretty. Sometimes it looks like tears, dirt, and throwing up on the side of a mountain. I did all three multiple times.

Wasatch still scares me. Honestly, I hope it always does. I respect that race way too much not to.

So I’ll keep stacking days.

See you soon, Wasatch. ✌️❤️

And to Cori 🏃🏼‍♀️ You are the ultimate trail wife. I’m so freaking proud of you. Nine Speedgoat finishes is absolutely insane, and you crushed every mile. Thanks for suffering right alongside me. There isn’t anyone else I’d rather suffer with. Love you forever. 🤍 @coriben

Running with the Babes and the Bulls. We had the mountain to ourselves until we hit Albion, where the wildflowers were showing off along with the brides to be and happy couples taking photos, all of it was so perfect. Easily one of the most beautiful hike/runs I’ve ever been on.

They say volunteering at an ultra is rewarding. They don’t always mention that it involves hauling 5 gallons of water up to Desolation Lake for the @wasatch100
...Twice ☠️

But honestly, what better way to spend a weekend when you’re not entirely unrecovered from Cocodona? Clearly, I am a master of great life choices. Who needs “rest days” when you can just carry 40+ pounds of sloshing liquid up a trail two times?

In all seriousness though, I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to volunteer and give back to such an epic, historic race. My day was totally made by seeing SO many friends on the trail. So glad you all got to witness Jill riding the struggle bus HARD 🤣🤣

Three months off the trails and stuck inside my own head. Turns out the cure was a horse, a sunset, and my favorite girls. Hopefully running shoes soon.

And off we went into the mountains with my friend @adventuregarrett and running into my friends @runjennboo @coriben @runwild_befree_annie and @bradgmac ! To make it even better, It was amazing to see one of our best friend @lindaexplorer waiting for us at the finish with McDonald’s 1/4 pounder sandwiches and cold drinks! She’s truly the best 🫶🏽

It was great to run the first 1/3 of the @wasatch100 miler race with the new Nike Radical Airflow (thank you @saltlakerunning and @acg ), which is known for its hot temperatures! The Nike Radical Airflow It’s super light, comfy, and incredibly breathable (obviously). I can’t wait to wear it on my races this year!

40. ✨🌙

A week of celebrating. A table full of beautiful women. Tarot cards, candlelight, incredible food, belly laughs, sparkles, and enough love to make my heart burst.

This birthday felt magical.

I’ve learned that life moves fast, that the people around your table matter, and that joy is meant to be celebrated loudly. So I did exactly that.

Somewhere between motherhood, trail miles, moonlight, deep conversations, healing, and a whole lot of laughter, I became this woman.

And honestly?

40 feels less like getting older and more like finally arriving.

Thank you for all the love, the magic, and the memories. What a beautiful way to begin a new decade. 🖤✨
