Blast overpressure may affect more than just the brain.

Research into the gut-brain axis suggests that repeated blast exposure could disrupt intestinal barrier function, potentially contributing to neurological symptoms.

The findings are preliminary, but they reinforce the importance of minimizing unnecessary blast exposure during training.

The SOCOM stack 2: www.titansupplements.com

Brawwn, Spartan, Regeneration. It has a functional focus with injury regenerative aid being the overtone. It averages 6-8% bf reduction, 10-12 ibs lean mass and 40-50 ib increases on major lifts. Other effects are: up to 2 minutes off 1 mile run times, improved sleep and injury regeneration. This being more than the SOCOM 1.

INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS

THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR REAL TRAINING.

Medications such as epinephrine, midazolam, ketamine, and naloxone (Narcan) can be given by IM injection in emergency settings.

IM injections deposit medication into muscle tissue, where it is absorbed through nearby blood vessels into the bloodstream. Absorption depends partly on blood flow to that muscle. Poor perfusion can delay the medication’s onset and make its effects less predictable.

22–25 gauge needles, typically 1–1.5 inches long, are commonly used for adult IM injections. Choose the needle based on the medication, injection site, and patient’s size: it must reach the muscle through the overlying fat. Shorter needles may be appropriate for some pediatric IM injections, as well as subcutaneous or intradermal injections in adults.

If the intended site is injured, choose another site. Avoid wounds, burns, significant bruising or hematomas, swelling, infection, and muscle directly affected by trauma. Choose intact tissue with adequate muscle mass.

Patients in shock or with poor perfusion can make IM absorption delayed or unreliable. In an unstable trauma patient, favor IV or IO administration when appropriate for the medication

AUNTIE CALLED THE WRONG MUSLIM FOR HER BBQ! 😂🔥

Auntie needs Chief Bullhead to cook beef ribs for the family cookout.

Chief Bullhead has to remind her:

“Auntie, I’m Muslim! I don’t cook beef ribs, I don’t eat those ribs—and before you ask me to touch that grill, I need to know where you bought that meat!”

Auntie wanted a grill master. She got the Navy Chief of Comedy and a complete halal inspection!

Should Bullhead bring halal chicken and fish—or stay home and let Auntie handle those ribs herself?

Tag the relative who always tries to put you to work at the family BBQ!

Your command presence matters, and that doesn’t stop when you get to the hospital.

We’ve all seen it. A routine transport, report is given, a signature is obtained, and we’re onto the next call. A quick turnaround gets you back in service serving the community, or back to bed a little faster.

But what about that patient who’s on the fence? The one who is stable right now but needs attention to stay that way. Or the critically sick or injured patient whose receiving team is swamped, distracted, or just missing how serious the situation is.

Simple things can shift the attention in the room toward you and your patient.

1. Be deliberate about giving report. Instead of “Who wants report?” or “I just need a signature,” saying “I have report when you’re ready. Gets the receiving nurse’s attention

Clearly state your concern. Don’t make them guess why you’re still standing there.

2. Stay engaged with your patient. If staff are used to seeing EMS give report, get a signature, and leave, a crew still actively assessing their patient and asking for the receiving nurse stands out.
3. How you give report matters. USE PAUSES…Don’t bury the most important finding in a rushed list of findings.

“He was answering questions appropriately. Now he needs repeated prompting.”

Pause. Let that register.

Speak clearly, make eye contact, and give the receiving team a moment to absorb the critical points without delaying care.

You’ve watched this patient over time. The receiving team is seeing a snapshot. Make sure they understand what changed and why you’re concerned. #ems #nurse #medic #firerescue #paramedic
