#HabariGani? #Kuumba Habari Gani! I'm late on my posts but we have been having a great time celebrating my favorite holiday! I'm grateful to @aarl_atl @fulcolibrary and the dynamic performers of @giwayenmata for hosting their annual #Kwanzaa celebration! This and last year, we've enjoyed attending with dear friends @cosmickale 🐝 @thcintl and their beautiful children. It was PURE JOY to see our girls living their best dancer lives on the stage with the amazing Giwayen Mata dancers (including @msijh 👋🏾) and a grand community of Atlantans who celebrate Kwanzaa. If this wasn't a show of #Kuumba, I don't know what would be! In addition to witnessing my husband's beautiful talent as a photographer, it is important to encourage and celebrate creativity within my family and throughout the community. We are an innovative people!
Joyous Kwanzaa!

We are bringing together craft beer & community.🍻

BrewGether was proud to sponsor this year’s Soil Festival in Atlanta at Maddox Park. We are still floating high after sharing stories and sips with everyone who stopped by our tent. Cheers! 🍻

We are celebrating SOIL because it is the foundation for growing healthy, nutritious food for our communities. 🌱 Join us in our mission to support black farmers and community farms.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the BrewGether tent at Soil Festival 2023! @foodwellalliance @wabeatl

We enjoyed serving up sips of @newbelgium beer in the Beer Garden 🍺 and connecting with folks in ATL’s urban agriculture community 🌱

Growth happens in more ways than one. ✨ Swipe to see 2023 vs 2021 vs 2018!

While my friends Tarik and Gabbi were expanding their beautiful family, I was (and continually am) blessed to document a few of the sweet moments of their lives. Their children, Lightning and Fire, certainly live up to their names, brilliant and warm, energetic and powerful, inquisitive and passionate.⚡️🔥⚡️It was nothing but grand energy when we made this portrait at Hammonds House (@hammondshouse).

Also, it’s a lovely, slightly embarrassing pleasure to see my lighting growth. 🥹🫣 A lot of time has been dedicated to light study - both in the studio and out. So, shit, cheers to going for what you want, for devoting time to a craft and seeing the growth through. More goodness to come. ✨

Habari Gani?! #Nia - Purpose. Today we enjoyed the annual #Kwanzaa celebration featuring @giwayenmata! This year the event was at Drew Charter School though still hosted by @aarl_atl. I'm so glad we linked up with my #Honeybee sis @cosmickale and her babies! We had a great time, and I was able to see my #Spelman sister @msijh perform again! @egunomodeperformingarts
& youth from @kilomboschool also performed.

On purpose: It's beautiful to watch and listen to Eva as she grows. We passed Eva Davis Way on the way, and I was reminded of this woman's activism and advocacy for impoverished residents of East Lake. She had a purpose and fought for herself and so many others in her community! I know many dynamic women named Eva! I look forward to the day when my little Eva finds her purpose; I pray she is fulfilled with whatever it may be.

Also, I am terribly missing my sister and her kids, including my niece Nia! This is her day and I usually get to celebrate Kwanzaa with her... but the memories are grand!
