The philosophy behind our Uoopa Records lineups! 🚀

One of the things we're passionate about is bringing together unique lineups that you won't find anywhere else.

A mix of emerging and established artists, from Melbourne and beyond, each bringing their own sound, style and experience, and all sharing a passion for house music. ❤️

This Friday we're bringing together Cassette from Sydney, Joey Coco, Shayni and Cotzy for a night we're incredibly excited about!

We believe bringing different people together in an intimate, comfortable space with a great sound system is what makes for a special night and an inclusive dancefloor.

Joey Coco — Melbourne's own 💥

Really excited to have @joeycocodj bringing his infectious energy to the intimate "Speakeasy" space at Radio Nacional for the Uoopa Records party on Friday 23 October 🔊

A few great clips here from Joey show you what his upbeat style is all about 🙌

A purveyor of anything soulful, deep and groove-led. Joey started out touring nationally in a hip-hop band before switching to his first love, house, and he's since become one of Melbourne's most in-demand selectors. Known for seamless mixing across every shade of house, he plays with real energy and always keeps one eye on the dance floor.

In the studio he's a Refuge Recordings regular, with releases on Nervous Records, Robsoul, Love Above and Music Is 4 Lovers. Most recently, Marco Carola played his Robsoul track 'As Far As The East Is From The West' at Club Space Miami, and his new Money Right EP with Demuir is out now on Purveyor Underground.

A unique lineup in a unique space 💥

For the Uoopa Records launch, we're bringing together established and emerging DJs and producers from near and far, each with their own experiences and a shared passion for house music.

The setting? Radio Nacionale — somewhere between a Japanese hi-fi bar and a Chicago speakeasy. Intimate, comfortable, and equipped with an incredible Void sound system 🔉🔉

We've got Cassette coming down from Sydney, the man Joey Coco, Uoopa founder Cotzy and a favourite of ours Shayni.

Bringing together a purpose built intimate space to play the right music, until the right time for the right people ❤️

CASSETTE — SYDNEY → MELBOURNE 🚀

Really excited to have @cassettedj coming down from Sydney exclusively for the first Uoopa Records party on Friday 23 October 🔉

Expect deep rolling basslines, jacking ’90s house, acid and plenty of soul. With roots in jazz and soul, Cassette’s sound moves through house, garage and acid while always keeping groove at the centre.

With more than a decade behind the decks, she’s taken that sound from Sydney dance floors to Sisyphos and Renate in Berlin, sunrise at S.A.S.H, and the Sydney Opera House, where she warmed up for Derrick May. Over the last few years she’s also appeared across festivals at home and abroad, including Subsonic, Shipwrecked and Sultra Sunrise, among others.

She’s also behind Bodywork, her own party and label project, built around house music, records and dance-floor culture.

On 23 October, Cassette comes to Melbourne exclusively for this one.
