As African Immigrant Heritage Month comes to a close, we celebrate the stories, contributions, and legacy that continue far beyond this month.

In our African Immigrant Heritage Month documentary, Council Members reflect on what it means to carry their parents’ and grandparents’ stories with them while serving their community here in Prince George’s. From navigating identity and belonging, to honoring the sacrifices of those who came before them, their stories reflect the strength and resilience of generations.

Watch the full African Immigrant Heritage Month documentary now on our YouTube channel.

The 3rd Annual African Cultural Night brought Prince Georgians together to celebrate the beauty, traditions, history, and significant impact of the African community in our County. From community leaders and business owners to families and neighbors from across the County, the evening was a celebration of the beautiful mosaic of people and cultures that make Prince George’s County such a vibrant and diverse place to live.

30 DAYS. 100+ pounds lost. Countless workouts. Better habits. Stronger women. One AMAZING experience. 💕⚡️

What started as a 30-Day Wellness Challenge turned into so much more — accountability, community, confidence, consistency, and women showing themselves exactly what they’re capable of when they truly commit. 😭🔥

I am SO proud of every single woman who showed up, pushed through, trusted the process, and finished this journey with us.

A huge thank you to Chair Krystal Oriadha for trusting me and BFITBWELL with the opportunity to pour into these ladies and bring this vision to life. It has truly been an honor. 💕

And to my BFITBWELL team — THANK YOU for helping me make this experience what it was. ⚡️

30 days later… and baby, the RESULTS WERE RESULTING. 😮‍💨🔥

This may be the end of this challenge… but something tells me we’re just getting started. 👀

Who’s ready for the next one?! 💪🏽💕⚡️

I had a wonderful time singing, dancing, and drumming with the Fritete African Drum and Dance Ensemble yesterday. The dancers were beautiful and engaging, and the music was uplifting and catchy. I am proud of my African heritage, and I am proud to live in a County that celebrates immigrant culture, customs, and businesses. #africanheritagemonth2026

I had an amazing time at the Fritete African Drum and Dance performance yesterday. It was so much fun to sing, dance, and play music with people from across the African Diaspora. Representation matters, and moments like this remind us that despite our differences, we are all connected. #AfricanHeritageMonth #Wanika4thePeople
