I was asked by my #instabestie @tamiandjonah to share a pic for #falltasticfoto hosted by Chrissy @finally_a_farmgirl and Lisa @countrypiemaker. While there's not much fall left up here, I did catch this shot yesterday while we were out with the kids.
Most everything has its winter sparkle of frost on it, including this bridge I was standing on. But the dying brush against the sky caught my eye. Even in the transition, the land out here is so pretty.
Would Erin @gracefilledfarmstead and Cher @sunnydaysfarm care to share a #falltasticfoto?

A few lingering signs of summer.
This was from Saturday's excursion to harvest bark. Our days for enjoying the fresh air and sunshine are fading but this one was great. Now that life has slowed down from deadlines looming over our heads, we can take time to enjoy even our chores together as a family. It used to be that Ryan would drop a tree while I was busy doing another chore. Then he would move on to something else while I went to peel the bark. Constantly moving, most of the time on separate activities. This past week or so, since finishing the last of his custom work, we have worked together. The kids come along and play explorers in the bush. Ryan even helps peel bark with me, something he has never done in the past. It's nice to have it all merging into one activity again.
Since that was our Saturday, I'll share for my friend Tina @applesnroseshomestead and her tag#homesteaderssaturday. And with fall fading soon for me, I'll also share for #falltasticfoto by Chrissy @finally_a_farmgirl and Lisa @countrypiemaker.

And we're off to bed. Thank you to everyone that stopped by (or hung in there 😉) through my overgramming today. It's been a busy day with a few outside chores and posting for the market as well.
A lot of stuff went quickly, but there are still a few items available if you missed it. Scroll back to see the listings or check my Etsy shop. Once again, thank you all so much for your support. Every bit helps to build and support our little homestead. You guys are the best 😘. And a special thank you to the ladies of the Maker Street Market for letting me join your party this month. It was so fun ladies!
Off to bed now and up early to hopefully start building some walls. Good night friends.

Summer may have ended but for me that means that sunsets have returned.
I've never seen skies more vivid in my life before moving to Alaska. I get stopped by a glimpse of the beauty of them. Just like tonight.
I was making dinner and glanced out the window. Next thing I know I'm outside standing on the floor of the addition staring at the sky. If summer has to end, I can definitely take these views returning 💕. You never realize what you miss until it returns. It's been months since I've seen the sky this beautiful. Welcome back sunsets.
