I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m happy to be here šŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ»

There’s a recent bookstagram trend going around where people are lamenting the way things used to be. Whether it’s that review posts are dead or that we can’t post a simple static image without spending hours on edits in Canva or that the algorithm is changing, the list goes on and on. I’m seeing a lot of this conversation and it got me thinking about why we’re all posting here anyways. So I took some time to think about it and this is what I came up with.

Thank you to everyone who has made my first few months on this platform such a joyful experience. I can’t wait to read more books and make more friends šŸ«¶šŸ»

My 100th post! šŸ’Æ

When I realized this was coming up, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to acknowledge it or just let it slide. I decided it would be a great time to share some accounts that I love! ā¤ļø

I’ve been wanting to do something like this for some time, but my fear was always feeling like I was excluding someone. There’s so many accounts and people that I love on here, and I don’t want to leave any of them out. If I could tag everyone in one big mega post I would!

So I’m calling this Part One 😌

All of these accounts are wonderful people who you should follow if you aren’t already. I’ve had so much fun this year getting to know these folks and interacting with them. This community really is a special place šŸ«¶šŸ»

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Go read a book!

Seventeen Book Besties (and counting). Seventeen genuinely incredible humans. šŸ“š

I came into Bookstagram hoping to share my love of books…I didn’t expect to find this. Real friendships. Real conversations. Real connection. Over the past couple months, getting to know each of you has been an absolute gift—swapping recommendations, diving into stories together, and just talking life through the lens of the books we love, amidst other things.

You’re some of the most amazing, smart, funny, creative, kind, thoughtful, and well-read people I’ve had the privilege to connect with. And somehow, yet unsurprisingly, through pages and posts and messages, you’ve made my life better. That’s not something I take lightly.

As a toast to the bonds of friendship I've begun to form with each of you, here are some quotes about friendships, books, and reading:

ā€œThere is no surer foundation for a beautiful friendship than a mutual taste in literature.ā€ — P.G. Wodehouse

ā€œThere are no faster or firmer friendships than those formed between people who love the same books.ā€ — Irving Stone

ā€œYou have been my friend,ā€ replied Charlotte. ā€œThat in itself is a tremendous thing.ā€ — E.B. White

ā€œGood books, like good friends, are few and chosen; the more select, the more enjoyable.ā€ — Louisa May Alcott

And maybe the one that says it best:
ā€œGive your friendships the magic you would give a romance. Because they’re just as important.ā€ — Alice Oseman

Grateful for every single one of you. šŸ¤šŸ“– If you don't already follow these amazing humans, do yourself a favor and go do that now!

And if I didn't give you a shoutout this time, know that I still deeply appreciate you and stick around...I will likely do another 'Book Besties' shoutout in the months to come!

Happy Sunday All!
