We love beautiful things at Blonde + Blue. Obviously.

But beautiful isn’t enough.

We want the room to look incredible and the champagne to be cold.

We want the tablescape to photograph beautifully and your guests to have enough room to actually sit comfortably.

We want the flowers to make an impact, but we also want enough staff behind the bar so nobody spends 20 minutes waiting for a drink.

Some of the best money you’ll spend on your wedding won’t necessarily appear in the photographs.

It will be felt.

In how the day flows. How comfortable people are. How well they’re looked after. How quickly they get a drink. How good the food is. How full the dance floor feels at 11pm.

Because ultimately, you’re not creating a photoshoot.

Y’all know I’m not exactly a minimalist… and basic has never really been my thing 🥲😅

So when I started looking online for something to wear to my sister’s wedding, even SHE was looking at everything I sent her like, “yeah… that’s way too basic for you.” 😂

And she was right.

I couldn’t find anything I loved enough to actually hand over my money for, so naturally I reached out to the best in the business @coutil.studio .

They helped me find the PERFECT fabric that brought together all the colours from my sister’s wedding palette, while still tying in beautifully with the outfits the other girls had already chosen. So I could still feel completely like myself without looking like I’d gone rogue from the brief. 😂

Handcrafted, made to measure and fitted to my body perfectly, we created this custom corset and skirt together and I honestly couldn’t have loved it more.

I wanted something that felt special enough for such a big day, but also something that wasn’t destined to be worn once and then forgotten about in the back of my wardrobe. Pieces I could wear again, style differently and make completely my own.

I spend so much of my life behind the wedding scenes, creating the pretty for everyone else, so it was VERY nice to get dressed up, be on the other side for once and feel like a queen while watching my sister have her moment. 🥹🖤- so take a good look because this is the best this florist will ever look 😂😂😭

Safe to say @coutil.studio absolutely understood the assignment and of@course the glam team that was @ykbmua and @kirstensmithhair.

Custom made, beautifully crafted and unapologetically me. ✨

Now I just need another excuse to wear her…

Hi, I’m Josie. It’s been a little while since I’ve properly introduced myself here 🤍

I’ve been photographing weddings for over a decade now, which still feels slightly surreal to say. I actually began in fashion and beauty photography before finding my way into weddings, and so much of what I loved then — light, composition and movement — still shapes the way I photograph today.

Over the years this job has taken me from Melbourne to Paris, Lake Como and so many beautiful places in between. These days, life looks a little different too. I share it with my husband and our three beautiful boys, and photography somehow feels even more meaningful to me because of it.

I still love beautiful, considered portraits. But just as much, I love everything that happens around them — the nerves, the chaos, the people you love, the moments you didn’t even realise were happening.

So, hello again. I’m Josie. And I feel very lucky that I still get to do this. x
