We NEED More Phantom Menace LEGO Star Wars Minifigures! LEGO Star Wars has neglected The Phantom Menace characters for too long! But thankfully OBT Bricks stepped in and continued his lineup of The Phantom Menace characters for the customs community! Sheev Palpatine, Rune Haako, and Tey How of the Trade Federation are so well made, pad-printed on official parts. I'm always floored by the quality OBT puts out. Not to mention the steel case and serial numbered minifigures were a pleasant surprise! Always Two There Are. No More. No Less. No matter where, Sheev Palpatine dripped out to the max. During The Phantom Menace was no different. This pad-printed product on official parts offers a much needed outfit for our favorite future emperor. The hairpiece is a unique choice from what I've seen before, but I can get behind it as he did have more luscious locks than usual here! The hair appeared to be spray-printed but it's so seamless from the LBG to the dark tan that it almost looks like part of the abs plastic! The overall minifigure has this amazing shine to it that gives an extra vibe of superiority. The Definitive Venom Snake 🐍 Quick, grab your cardboard box and put on your cake, because you won't want to miss this one! But holy peak the cake on this minifigure doesn't even begin to cover the detail and care that went into creating this beast. The Diamond Dog comes pad-printed on all official Pearl Dark Grey parts (yea you read that right). ALL PDG. The printing is top quality, as usual, but really pop another level on the PDG part. The hair clutch power is pretty strong, but thankfully the pony tail allows you to rock it back and forth and it'll come right off! This character translated perfectly to customs and is a premium addition to my collection! I don't like sand. It's course and rough and irritating. And it's gets EVERYWHERE! 😤😡 Two of the most anticipate minifigures of this wave for me. Two fan favorite characters in all of cinema. One iconic scene that has stood the test of time. We all know it! I'll be honest, when I was prepping for these photos, I swear this scene was like 5 minutes long! Turns out? UNDER 2 minutes! Crazy impact on the culture, love it or hate it. Padme's dress, oh WOW, so vibrant, and yeah, it looks even better in hand. The cloth piece does the trick to emulate her billowy dress. Anakin's outfit under the cloth piece I thoroughly enjoyed. The detail complements the fancy garb of the Senator quite nicely. And a new hairpiece WITH the padawan bun? We really just getting spoiled this wave. Oh and Anakin also had a dual expression that shows you how he REALLY feels about sand 😉 Produced by: @rais_customs Designed by: @brickdaddyminifigures Padmé hair designed by: @minifigure_closet Note: I didn’t want to label these as traditional “cons,” but more as observations for you to consider. For Padmé, her cloth piece is very fragile, especially at the wrists. Remove the hands first. I learned the hard way, and mine is now hanging by a thread. Her hair mold is a great addition, but the cleanup could be more refined, as mine had visible sprue edges that would normally be smoothed out. Otherwise, the clutch power was excellent! For Anakin, his cloth had the opposite issue. It was quite rigid, and I had to use sticky tack to keep it flat. It would be great to see it hang more naturally. His hair showed some mold seams on top, but the main issue was weak clutch power. Phase 1 Vs. Phase 2! WHO WINS? 💪🏻 It's the age old debate! Which phase of clone is better? Personally it's tough to decide but the P1's always have a special place in my heart. I think it's the simplistic yet aggressive design that makes them so clean. Thanks to @grandpaclonecustoms for sending over a bunch of his custom figures printed on official parts.
