Thank you so much Enfield Dispatch for this new article "Spurs plans for Whitewebbs Park ‘unchanged’ says club’s chief exec". Read the full story on the Dispatch's website. 🧡

In Spurs' recent Fan Advisory Board minutes, it is noted that the "long-term ambition for the Women's team's base at Whitewebbs is unchanged and remains subject to an ongoing legal process..." and that "current improvements are a temporary requirement, not an alternative to Whitewebbs". 📄

Spurs is in the relegation zone, currently second from bottom in the Premier League. The club already has 17 pitches at its existing world-class training centre. Title holders Arsenal, who are currently in second place, has fewer - 11 pitches - which the women share with the men. 🥅 Spurs could easily host its women's team without taking over our public park; the women are already being accommodated at its current ground and could just be given equitable access to facilities there.

Furthermore, Spurs fans were promised change when Daniel Levy left, but the club has continued on the same path. Maybe Spurs should focus on their football before concreting over Whitewebbs for 10 more football pitches! ⚽️

Poor decision making and the wrong focus isn't good for local people or wildlife, nor is it good for fans. 💚

We will continue to fight our legal challenge - we are still waiting to hear if Spurs' application for permission to appeal our successful judicial review has been granted by the Court of Appeal. Find out more on our CrowdJustice page, link in bio.

We really appreciate your support. 🙏

Join Save Wimbledon Park at the Court of Appeal this Weds 7th October - Royal Courts of Justice, Strand.

This is SWP’s appeal against the High Court decision of July 2025 that the Statutory Trust and Restrictive Covenants were not relevant to the planning permission granted in 2024. SWP say these findings were irrational and that the permission should be over-turned.

We would love your support in person outside the RCJ from 9am and for some or all of the one day hearing - a large viewing gallery has been requested. An educational opportunity for students!

All welcome whether local to Wimbledon Park or not, including those who want to do their bit to protect public spaces and the environment.
The decision in this case will echo through the planning system nationally.

More information on our website.

See you there.

🏆AWARDS SHORTLIST🏆

We are delighted that two GMC authors, Bethany Handley and Sally Coulthard, are shortlisted in the Countryside changemaker category at this year’s Campaign to Protect
Rural England’s Centenary National Awards. As CPRE celebrates 100 years of standing up for the countryside, they’re also celebrating the people, projects and ideas helping the countryside and its communities thrive.

After becoming a full-time wheelchair user in her twenties, Bethany Handley found herself shut out of the countryside she’d grown up roaming – not by the terrain, but by stiles, gates and barriers never designed with disabled people in mind. She has since worked with the RSPB, the Ramblers, Paralympics GB and Forestry England, among others, to raise awareness of those barriers in practice. Her book, MY BODY IS A MEADOW was longlisted for this year’s Wainwright Prize. 🍃

Across more than thirty books, author and rural historian Sally Coulthard has spent her career reminding readers that the countryside isn’t a backdrop, but a living place
shaped by people, work, weather and tradition. Writing as a working smallholder herself, she covers everything from farming history and rural crafts to the animals and
plants that make the countryside tick, with a style critics have called witty, accessible and deeply researched. 🍃

Congratulations Bethany & Sally! 🏆

We had a fantastic session with the team from We Are Grow at the GROW Farm in Totteridge last week. Sharing a range of tree propagation skills, from chip budding apples to air layering and more.

Staff and volunteers developed some new skills which they plan to use within their popular schools educational programmes. The London Tree Ring team plans to return this autumn to work with GROW to plant some mother trees of species which will be suitable candidates for the warming UK climate.

Interested in growing your own trees, get in touch with the London Tree Ring Team - lets.connect@cprelondon.org.uk

Guardians of Whitewebbs Community Nature Walk, Sunday 27th September 2026 at 1pm. *This is a repost using an updated poster.

Meet at the café, Beggars Hollow, Whitewebbs Park, EN2 9JN (turn off Clay Hill). Join us on another wonderful walk to look at Ivy Bees with expert Benny Hawksbee! 🐝

Ivy bees first arrived in the UK in 2001. They are a harmless and ecologically important pollinator. Whitewebbs has a huge breeding population - mostly found on the former golf sand bunkers. September is a key month for these bees, as the ivy is in flower. 🌼

We can't wait to see you there! No need to reserve a ticket. Please tell your friends and family about the event and our campaign! 💚

Directions: Enter your destination as "Beggars Hollow, Enfield, EN2 9JN" to take the most direct route. This short road will take you to Whitewebbs Café, where this event will start. 📍🗺️

🖼️ *Upon reviewing our graphics, we have noticed that Canva (the app/website we use to design posters) is integrating AI elements into what was once a fully human-made library of royalty free elements. We occasionally incorporate their royalty free elements in designs - unwittingly, the ivy leaves and green colour background in the previous poster appear to have been uploaded to the library of assets by someone using AI. We are incredibly disappointed to learn of this, and we have updated this poster to include only real photographs (credits below).

We would never use AI, and find it deeply upsetting that it is finding its way into so many aspects of life. From now on, we will be double-checking all of our designs and potentially choosing a different software to design our graphics going forward.

Not only does AI devalue human creativity and result in lost jobs, AI data centres are massive and environmentally destructive. They use huge amounts of water and are accelerating the climate crisis.

@richmond_council seem to be doing their level best to buck the trend of supporting local, sustainable food growing by converting 120+ year old allotments into burial land. Yes, go figure 🤷🏻‍♀️ #allotmemts #saveteddingtonallotments #sustainablefood
