Without further ado, here's our little contribution to @ac4pal and @joannaquinn 's global anijam; TO GAZA WITH LOVE ❤️

We chose to create a loose homage to some lines from "Fuck Your Lecture on Craft, My People Are Dying" by Noor Hind. This short aims to literally send a message of hope, from our people to the people of Gaza. We are here, and we will not forget you.

So please, check out the other work submitted by the countless skilled animators who worked on this project and especially check out @animator_haneen 's work, whom this project is meant to support along with their students.

It's time for us to do our part, no matter how small!

Here's a little peek into our creative process! Moving into production, we made a rough pencil test of the first cut of the film before committing to animation. Here, we wanted to push and explore what kind of approach we could take for this film, starting with blocking out colours and a line-less style. After some discussion, we decided to try something else to make the animation stand out more against the background. Even though stuff like this might get cut along the way, it's always nice to keep track of it as a marker to compare our progress later, ne?

This little number was inspired by an old One Piece animation from the 2000s. A hallmark of anime from that era was the janky sense of lighting seen on characters. We at the lab love old shounen chaos, so this was a love letter to just that!
