♻️ ONE YEAR OF ECOPRESS SACRAMENTO! 💚

One year ago today, October 20, 2025, I went ALL IN on EcoPress Sacramento🌱

This all started as a dream. A want for change. A hope to find a community just as obsessed with sustainability as I am. Last summer, I shared my crazy idea for a micro-recycling sustainability hub with a couple of friends, and they encouraged me to go for it.

I never could have imagined it would grow into what it is today🥹

✨ We won Calling All Dreamers @downtownsac
🚀 Completed TWO @cltre_sacramento accelerator programs
💡Competed in the @wpwma x @carlsencentersacstate Innovation Competition and received a surprise Innovator Award
💚 Received grants to help bring our vision to life from organizations like @cal_chamber @athletics @pathwater & more
🎨 Enforced an incredible branding & marketing foundation 100% thanks to @aizasakura.photo
♻️ Grown our workshops, cleanups, partnerships, and community impact

But none of this would be possible without our VILLAGE. Every person who encouraged us, made a connection, volunteered, donated materials, attended an event, supported our work, or believed in this mission helped get us here. EcoPress may have started as my dream, but our community has helped make it something bigger than I ever imagined🌈

If you told me five years ago I’d be pursuing my STEAM dreams, building my own company, and working seven days a week while LOVING what I do, I’d have thought you were crazy. EcoPress started in the garage of my house. Last winter was brutal with how cold I was just trying to keep up with demand of our plastic waste ornaments & earrings. I knew back then to cherish the lows like freezing in my driveway while cleaning plastic, because I’d be able to look back & see how far we’ve come🥹

Thank you Sacramento, for giving me the opportunity to build this dream and show just how sustainable our community can be. We’re only getting started! 🌎💚 If you helped us get here, I seriously can’t thank you enough.

Ideas coming from my vision board. I dont ever really draw how I want things plated. But that is the challenge I face when I just keep my ideas only in my head. Elote on a stick gets a whole new upgrade.

After completing CLTRE’s 12-week EveryDay Creative Accelerator, our founders took the stage to share their businesses, tell their stories, and pitch for seed funding to help move their ideas forward.

This night was bigger than a pitch competition. It was a celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, community, and what is possible when founders have access to the knowledge, relationships, resources, and capital they need to grow.

Over the last 12 weeks I had the privilege of going through a business accelerator focused on the development of creative businesses and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

12 weeks of business education, pitching, and building community with some of the dopest people I’ve ever met. I have been part of dozens of fellowships, but what CLTRE and Creative Startups have created is unlike anything I’ve experienced.

The intentionality of the program structure met me exactly where I needed to be met this season.

Thank you to the entire staff for everything.

It was exactly what I needed.

These are all very grown people, but I gotta say it…my babies did it!!! 🫶🏾

Over the past 12 weeks, I’ve had the honor of holding space for 16 Sacramento-based creative entrepreneurs. Since April, I’ve supported them as they worked on their businesses, faced themselves and their fears, and prepared to pitch to their community.

I’m humbled to have been on this journey with them and witness their talent, vision, and calling.

Shout out to @createstartups for the programs they’ve created for creative businesses for the past 18+ years…

And to @cltre_sacramento for the beautiful work they’re doing to support the creatives of Sacramento with programs for their business and life. Such a beautiful community!

I did it! As a creative business entrepreneur its always good to celebrate the small wins. I completed a 12 weeks business cohort program ran by @cltre_sacramento and @createstartups it was such a great experience to receive guidance and constructive feedback on my business model @crispin_supper I had learned so much about who I am as a business owner and what strengths are needed to fully become a sustainable concept. Yesterday I was able to pitch my idea to Sacramento. This is a HUGE milestone because that was my first time pitching my idea to a large audience. I feel good about starting the next chapter and to continue spreading my mission to minimize food waste. Thank you all who came out to support. ♻️🫶

Congrats to all the other cohorts founders. We did it!

Part III: The big reveal. What a beautiful spread we had done for @bangolufsen.california in San Francisco for design week. Loads of preparation, dedication and creativity was had for this supper experience to come to life. Couldn’t be any happier the way it all turned out. Its a wonderful feeling knowing that every supper experience is geared to fight this food waste crisis. The movement is real. ♻️

Inspo: Create a sustainable menu that highlights the products of Sacramento while showcasing our Mexican forward bites with some Danish influence (my fav bites while living in Copenhagen). Clean minimalist design using upcycled wood, metals and even a refinished vintage stereo as part of the design so the food can speak for itself.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for Happenings at the Hub, featuring the Santa Fe Office of Economic Development’s Books Behind the Business session at the New Mexico Innovation Hub.

OED Director Johanna Nelson led a thoughtful conversation with David Perez, founder of the New Mexico Innovation Hub, exploring insights from "Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman" by Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard.

David shared insights into how Yvon Chouinard built Patagonia around strong values and principles, including childcare, paternity and maternity leave, environmental stewardship, and creating a company culture rooted in purpose. He also emphasized Patagonia’s deep commitment to giving back to the environment they love so much.

The audience asked great questions, sparking a lively conversation about how businesses can be successful while also creating a positive impact in the Santa Fe community.
