Today I created a live event illustration to celebrate 10 years of the community garden created by @friendsofwhitehorsepark It was too wild and windy to celebrate in the park so we reconvened in the wonderful @darkhorsecroydon pub instead. I took some reference photos in the park first, and then combined the park and the pub. Finally I included some of the characters- and the dogs of course! A lovely afternoon, thanks for inviting me @creativecroydoncic Let me know if you’d like me to illustrate at your next event! This piece was commissioned by the Friends of Whitehorse Park, and the drawing will be displayed ceremoniously at their HQ (shed). We will also make prints and postcards to send to fans and supporters. Let me know if you want one! 💃✍️ #liveillustration #liveeventillustration #liveillustratorcroydon #liveillustratorlondon

Booking is now open for Ranger led walks at the London National Park City Festival! 📆 17th Oct 📍Churchill Gardens, Pimlico There’s limited spaces on each walk so book soon! All are priced at £10 (plus fees). Nature Folklore Walk with Ranger Chris Collier Time: 10:30 – 11:30 Join naturalist and urban guide Chris Collier for a one-hour walk uncovering the myths, folklore, and hidden histories woven into the common trees and plants growing around Churchill Gardens Estate. Expect tales of magic and faery feats, forgotten customs, and the extraordinary plant persons who have shaped how Londoners have understood the natural world for centuries. Fruity Walk with Ranger Divya Time: 11:30 – 12:30 Led by Divya Herrero, urban fruit tree forager and founder of Fruity Walks, this one-hour guided walk invites you to slow down, look up, and completely reimagine your relationship with the trees we live alongside. Through story, observation, and a little foraging folklore, Divya will help you see your city through entirely different eyes – one fruit tree at a time. A Mushroom Foray with Ranger Mike Time: 12:30 – 13:30 Join Mike from the London Fungus Network for a one-hour foray into the fungal world. Together you will learn to identify common mushroom species, explore the extraordinary role of fungi in the urban ecosystem, and discover why these often-overlooked organisms are some of the most important living things in the city. Please note: this walk is for educational purposes and is not a foraging course. Toy Camera Photowalk with Ranger Chris Hope-Fitch Time: 13:30 – 14:30 Join Chris Hope-Fitch for a one-hour photowalk in and around Churchill Gardens Estate, using toy cameras as a way of seeing a familiar urban environment with completely fresh eyes. Every participant will have a camera to use that prints small black-and-white images as you go – capturing the estate’s strong geometric architecture, its surprisingly varied flora, and the textures that usually go unnoticed. At the end of the walk, you will have the chance to stick your prints into a small zine – a handmade memento of the afternoon. Sing and Stroll with Ranger Catherine Pestano Time: 14:30

Where were our lovely visitors heading to? 👀 A perfect hidden spot for singing in nature with @creativecroydoncic! The lime trees made a magnificent backdrop for our summer solstice Sing & Stroll with the sun streaming through... "It was magical!, "I feel Jubilant!", "Liberating!". "We met as strangers & left as friends" A perfect start to the weekend, to honour the magnificent trees in Ashburton Park providing us shade and making this hot weather more bearable for us all 🌲🌿 Shoutout to our redwood tree which helps keep cool temperatures nearby and stores carbon to helps mitigate climate change. Thanks to our lovely participants for attending & singing their hearts out! And @heritagefunduk for making these sessions possible ✨ #naturalvoice #communitysinging #croydon

The adventure begins …at the ripe old age of 67, I am about to create a board game that will be sold around the world. Not only that, it will be a board game of the people, by the people and for the people unlike the current US Government. So can you recognise the country, work out what particular businesses are shown in the map and guess where I had this crazy idea?
