What a makeover! One of our favorite before and after transformations to showcase. Where do you keep your cookbooks? Here, the answer is “behind arched glass, like the treasures they are.” Where we started: dark stain, carved details, and a layout that kept everyone in a corner. Where we landed: a bright, open kitchen with a vaulted shiplap ceiling, warm beams overhead, and two soft blue-gray islands that give the whole room somewhere to gather. The perimeter is crisp white cabinetry from @platowoodwork, with arched mullion glass doors that make everyday dishes look like a display. The island doors do the same for a cookbook collection. Then there’s the brass. Tall, ornate @ashleynortonhardware pulls run nearly floor-to-ceiling, and every drawer gets a warm brass bar pull. A pot filler over the range, a farmhouse sink, and a paneled refrigerator that disappears into the wall keep it working as hard as it looks. Share with the friend who would absolutely use two islands (we’re not judging). Cabinetry: @platowoodwork Hardware: @ashleynortonhardware Contractor: OC Construction Countertops: @stonesourcechattanooga Appliances: fergusonshowrooms Photography: @creativerevolver

Same bathroom. Same footprint. Completely different mood. The before: warm amber tile floor to ceiling, speckled granite, dark stained cabinetry, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, and a big flat mirror. It was cohesive in its own way, but it was a lot of one note. The after is a full pivot to soft white and cool marble. The dark-stained vanity became custom cabinetry with fluted corner columns, a bracketed base, and clear glass knobs and bar pulls with polished-nickel ends. The builder-grade mirror became two framed mirrors with a sconce between them. The shower got a fleur-de-lis mosaic panel, a built-in bench, and a basket-weave floor. A clawfoot tub now sits under café shutters, so you get the light without the audience. Same room, completely different personality. Looking for a similar transformation? A mudroom this pretty has no business holding muddy shoes. We designed it to anyway. A soft seafoam finish on inset cabinetry, brass hooks over beadboard, and a warm wood bench with open shelves below, so shoes have a home that isn’t the middle of the floor. A tall cabinet hides everything you’d rather not look at, and the real plot twist is the little built-in desk nook. It has two drawers with brass bar pulls and a curved bracket detail underneath, because even the mail pile deserves nice furniture. It’s the kind of space that catches the backpacks, the beach hats, and the chaos before it ever reaches the kitchen. This is the first stop on a home tour: kitchen, primary bath, wet bar, laundry room, and mudroom. We’re starting at the back door and working our way in. Tag the person in your house who needs a hook and a plan. (We’re happy to provide both.) Cabinetry: @platowoodwork Hardware: @ashleynortonhardware Contractor: OC Construction Countertops: @stonesourcechattanooga Appliances: fergusonshowrooms Photography: @creativerevolver

🏡Just Listed🏡 689 Ladd Avenue 4 bed/3.5 bath/2840 sq ft $599,000 More space, more flexibility, and a North Chattanooga location that keeps you close to everything. At 689 Ladd Avenue, you’ll find four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and approximately 2,840 square feet across three levels, with a layout that offers plenty of room to spread out while staying connected to the Northshore and downtown. The main living level feels warm and inviting, with hardwood floors, a gas fireplace, and a spacious kitchen with island seating that flows into a separate dining area. Fresh interior paint and an updated backsplash add a refreshed feel, while the upstairs primary suite features a recently remodeled bathroom. But what really makes this home stand out is the finished lower level. With its own exterior entrance, kitchen, bedroom, full bath, living area, and laundry hookups, it offers a level of independence that’s hard to find. Whether you’re welcoming extended guests, need a dedicated work-from-home space, or simply want another comfortable place to gather, this setup gives you options. Outside, a fenced yard offers room to relax, entertain, or garden, and an attached two-car garage adds everyday convenience. And then there’s the location. Living in North Chattanooga means having easy access to the restaurants, shops, parks, and neighborhood favorites that make the Northshore such a special part of the city, with downtown just minutes away. If you’ve been looking for a home that offers more than the typical floor plan without sacrificing location, 689 Ladd Avenue is worth a closer look. For the full listing, click the link in our bio. Some people put wallpaper on walls. Adorable. We sent it straight to the ceiling, added a chandelier with excellent judgment, and called it a dining room. Is wallpaper on the ceiling excessive? Possibly. Is a blank ceiling a wasted opportunity? Absolutely. Restraint has its place. This just wasn’t it. Ceiling wallpaper: yes or absolutely yes? What's the one thing you'd want built into your kitchen that no one else has? For this client and project, we designed this holistically, pulling together everything from "I want to showcase my grandmother's china" to a complete overhaul of the kitchen layout, island, and the entire space being built for this family. The kind with a fridge covered in memories, and, judging by the photos lined up on the counter, some serious football loyalty. Save this for your "someday kitchen" board....or tap the link in bio and explore how we can help make that happen sooner than later. Cabinetry: @medallioncabinetry Hardware: @topknobs Contractor: Stuart Bickley Countertops: @stonesourcechattanooga Photography: @creativerevolver Addl Vendors: @thegalleybrands

This kitchen went from "we inherited this from 2002" to "yes, we'll be hosting Thanksgiving, why do you ask?" The before had all the hallmarks: dated oak cabinetry marching wall to wall, a valance doing its best 2000s era impression, and a wall oven that had clearly seen some things... Swipe for along for the afters (and our custom design, ahem). A two-tone kitchen where a rich, dark-wood island anchors the room, while soft white perimeter cabinetry opens everything up. We paired the cabinetry with black hardware to add complementary detail work. A dimensional white tile runs the full height of the range wall, a pot filler (seriously, every kitchen needs this), and the countertops tie the whole thing together with and white-and-gray movement that screams "Thanksgiving here!" Click the #linkinbio to check out more transformations. Cabinetry: @medallioncabinetry Hardware: @topknobs Contractor: Stuart Bickley Countertops: @stonesourcechattanooga Photography: @creativerevolver Addl Vendors: @thegalleybrands

Somewhere out there, someone is wrapping a birthday present on their bedroom floor surrounded by loose ribbon. Not here. We built a dedicated ribbon wall, which means no more digging through a drawer for the right color. A built-in desk with knee space means you can actually sit down to wrap instead of hunched over the floor. And storage boxes up top keep gift bags, tissue paper, and everything else corralled instead of stacked in a closet somewhere. This gorgeous and bold navy really doesn't hurt either. Share someone who wraps every gift like it's a competitive sport. Cabinetry: @medallioncabinetry Hardware: @topknobs Contractor: Stuart Bickley Countertops: @stonesourcechattanooga Photography: @creativerevolver

This is a public service announcement: this, too, can be yours. And the spice cabinet you're picturing right now, the one where the cinnamon is somehow behind the fish sauce, does not have to be your life. Sometimes good design isn't the big island. It's the drawer nobody sees until you open it. Save this for the next person who says, "I just need more counter space." They need this instead. A well-designed custom kitchen fit for your own needs. Cabinetry: @medallioncabinetry Hardware: @ashleynortonhardware Photography: @creativerevolver Addl Vendors: @thegalleybrands & @subzeroandwolf

We love a close-up. Let's zoom in on the cabinetry drama. 🔍 Quick vocab check, because it matters more than you'd think: Semi-custom cabinetry: standard cabinet boxes, personalized within a manufacturer's limits. Think "choose your own adventure," but the book only has six endings. It's the sweet spot for most kitchens, more affordable, still yours, still great. Full custom cabinetry: built from scratch, for your space, with zero "close enough." No spec book. No "pick from these six sizes." Just your walls, your fridge cutout, your weird nook? Solved on its own terms. Can you guess what was chosen and designed for this bar? Cabinetry: @medallioncabinetry Hardware: @ashleynortonhardware Photography: @creativerevolver Addl Vendors: @thegalleybrands
