Here is more information about our Create and Discuss evening! We’re looking forward to welcoming you there! I just thought I’d make a quick introduction in this caption - My name is Isla and I’m the Social Media Assistant here at SDNSU! I will be helping to keep you all informed on all the amazing events we have coming up! This event is particularly close to my heart due to personal experiences of domestic abuse during my childhood. Having somewhere that is meant to be your safe space suddenly feel unsafe can leave you feeling very vulnerable, and can make abuse a very hard topic to speak up about. Events like our Create and Discuss Evening can be so helpful for anyone who has experienced domestic abuse, or is worried about a loved one in this position - it will be the perfect safe place to gather and learn how to help ourselves/others through resources available to us. I am super excited and so grateful to be working with this amazing movement. Ever since SDNSU’s first event back in 2021, I have been inspired by the brave voices and by the safe space that has been created here. Although I will be working mostly remotely, I will be busy working behind the scenes up in Bristol during my placement year for you all, and my messages are always open should any of you feel like you’d like to get in contact about anything (@islaclrk). I look forward to hopefully meeting some of you at future events in Exeter! Lots of love, Isla x

Hey guys, we are SO excited to announce our third and final event over Freshers' Week... Our Create and Discuss Studio Ghibli Workshop will give you the space to get creative, meet new people and engage in an open discussion about uni life, from nightlife to deadlines and everything in-between. We want this to be a big sister chat where we can all come together and share advice on how to make the most out of university. We'll be showing you where to get sexual health resources, the best sites to use for citations and what's the nightlife like in Exeter. Anyone is welcome to share their experiences or ask questions! We're so excited to see you there! ❤️ - #sitdownandshutup #activism #activist #community #communitybuilding #communityfirst #communitylove #equality #equalrights #feminism #feminist #giveback #humanrights #loveislove #nonbinary #sexualhealth #sexualhealthmatters #studioghibli

Here are my spoils from today's Fore Street Flea. I think I did pretty well don't you?! Click the photo for tags. . I also bought some edible goodies, not featured here. (They didn't last long!) From @ombexeter @pesto_taste @bollhayes abs @thewildflourcakery . It was a beautiful, sunny day and so good to see so many familiar faces and plenty of new ones too. It was great to hang out with my good friend @treeeandstars Who is so patient with me while I inspected each stall carefully and chatted to all the stall holders. 🥰 . Shout out to @lottie_markets_manager for all your hard work putting the market on. We appreciate everything you do. Give Lottie a follow to be kept up to date on all the other markets happening in Exeter! There's more than you'd think! . #exetercreatives #inexeter #forestreetflea #newtreasures #supportlocalmakers #marchmeetthemaker #marchmeetthemaker2022

The first Art Swap of 2022 has arrived!!! Have you met @creativeweirdo_98 ??! Her artwork is freaking phenomenal! Every year I get a family portrait done from a different artist. There is only one main requirement. 1. The scene needs to be in a different time or world. Other than that the artist has free reign over the design! And wow did she Slay!!! LOOK AT THIS!!! We're part of STUDIO GHIBLI!!!! MY FAMILY ARE OVER THE MOON! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! The cottage print is exquisite and it's honestly a dream house. It's going straight in my art corner! Every time I look at it there's always so much to discover! The sticker is so beautiful from the colours to the quality. It's so sturdy and just really cool; I had to fight my son for overhaul...I feel it will disappear in the next few hours 🤣 I just can't thank you enough babe! The addition of the handwritten card is the cherry on top! I feel like it's such a personal touch 💖 This is only Part one, so stay tuned for the goodies I have yet to receive! 🥰 Have a great weekend! #biteofwhimsy #artswap #familypotrait #creativeweirdo98 #artistoninstagram #artlove #creativeswap #hungryformore #obsession #familytradition #feelinginspired #feelingspecial #blessed #lucky #grateful
