Next Tuesday, we’re bringing together some wonderful people for an evening of music, theatre, laughter, big ideas and community connection.

🎶 @priscillaandersohn will open and close our evening with beautiful live music, bringing us together through song.

🍛 Nirmal Singh will be cooking a delicious feast of fresh dahl, rice, chickpea curry and salad. All vegan and gluten-free, included with every ticket!

🌱 @bristol.redistro will share how wealth redistribution can build grassroots power, tackle isolation and strengthen our communities. We’ll explore how money and decision-making can serve people and support genuine movements for change.

🎪 The wonderfully creative @kate_raworth will bring us Doughnut Economics Circus: Battle for the Biosphere — a playful, participatory show full of theatre, juggling, debate and laughter, asking one big question: Can we redesign our economy to serve life?

💛 We’ll finish by coming together for collective reflections, sharing what we’ve learnt, what has inspired us and what we might take forward into our communities.

At its heart, this evening is about more than economics. It’s about remembering what’s possible when we come together.

We hope everyone leaves having met someone new, learnt something, shared a laugh and felt part of a community working towards a more hopeful future.

We don’t have to figure everything out on our own. There are already people building alternatives, caring for one another and making change happen right here in Bristol.

We’re all in this together. Let’s celebrate that! ❤️

$A year in review... In Bristol, youth voice work is growing fast. We caught up with @creativeyouthnetwork to reflect on their last year, from piloting @thescoopbristol a digital youth voice platform backed by Youth Transformation Funding, to hackathons, and contributing to the National Youth Strategy. Their proudest achievement, in their own words: “The network of involved organisations is broadening, with more partners proactively stepping forward. More joined-up working at organisational level is slowly trickling down into more cross-working with young people themselves.” And what’s next? 👉A youth-led Youth Voice Network Conference during National Youth Work Week 👉Relaunching the Youth Voice Network, with communities of practice for facilitators and young people This is only a fraction of the work being created by our #TownsAndCitiesOfSocialAction network, dedicated to embedding youth social action locally.
