YI Kanpur Rural Initiative Team | In Conversation with the Branding Team

2026 has truly been the year of Rural Impact for YI Kanpur.

The scale, reach and depth of work created by the Rural Initiative Team this year has been nothing short of mind-blowing. From strengthening rural communities to creating meaningful opportunities, driving awareness and bringing real change at the grassroots, the team has shown what is possible when purpose meets action.

This wasn’t just about projects; it was about people, communities and creating sustainable impact.

2026 will be remembered as the year YI Kanpur went deeper into the roots, stood with rural communities, and turned intent into meaningful impact.

A proud moment for the entire YI Kanpur family.

MEGA HEALTH CHECKUP CAMP IN RURAL SCHOOL

We brought together 9 renowned doctors of Kanpur* across Dental, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, M.D Medicine, Chest, Cardiology and Pathology — all coming together with one purpose: TO SERVE

Together, we reached *250+ patients*, including students, their parents, teachers and school administration.

This was more than a health camp. *It was a beautiful example of what happens when a community comes together to serve its people.

Grateful to every doctor, volunteer and member who made today magical.

Another fun book club meets down with Trevor Noah’s book Born A Crime.

Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime was such a fun book to read together, and the discussions made it even better.

So many laughs, thoughtful conversations, and “wait, I never thought about it that way” moments. It’s always fun bookpeckers coming together with their deep, raw thoughts. ❤️

Always love how a good book becomes even better when you get to talk about it with people!

From Rural Grounds to Bigger Dreams | Yi Kanpur

What happens when we don’t just introduce sports in rural schools, but create a pathway for talent to grow? This championship was a step towards making sports a part of everyday rural education—not just a one-day activity.

For the past 2 weeks, students underwent rigorous practice and intense selection rounds. From 897 students of Classes 6–12, 4 Kabaddi teams were formed, while 87 students competed in Long Jump.

🔥 The matches were intense.
💪 The talent was incredible.
🏅 And the hunger to compete was inspiring.

Hear what the Principal has to say about the impact this initiative is creating.

And this is only Phase 1. The winning students will now move beyond their school grounds to compete at the city level under Yi in the next phase.

Our vision is simple — infuse a culture of sports in rural schools, identify hidden talent, and give them a pathway from grassroots to bigger platforms. 🇮🇳

Because champions can come from anywhere. They just need an opportunity to play. 🏆

Rural week – Day 4 🚦

Today, our Road Safety team reached 545 students across rural schools, conducting interactive awareness sessions on road safety and traffic rules.

By educating young minds on responsible road behavior, we're helping build safer roads and more aware future citizens. Every lesson today is a step towards saving lives

Today, 600 students in a rural school didn't just learn self-defence—they learnt confidence, awareness, and the skills to protect themselves from harassment, robbery, and abduction. The sense of fulfilment this initiative brought to our entire organising team is beyond words. Heartfelt thanks to Taekwondo Black Belt Trainer Mr. Danish Khan and MMA Trainer Mr. Mohammad Shadab for empowering these young lives.

A meaningful step towards empowering young girls through awareness and preventive healthcare.

Dr. Soni Vyas conducted an engaging session on Menstrual Hygiene and Cervical Cancer Awareness, followed by the distribution of sanitary napkins to 520 girls at a rural school.

As the next step, we have committed to obtaining parental consent to launch a Cervical Cancer Vaccination Drive, helping protect young girls through timely prevention and awareness.
