What a privilege to move your body. One week ago today I completed my second Hyrox. This year we did the same run distance as the able bodied runners (double the distance 5 miles I believe between fitness stations) so I can’t really compare . I was/am proud to finish under 2! Shout out to my coach @coachheidi_cfb my gym @crossfitboston , my run club @achillesboston ,my fellow adaptive athletes (growing in numbers, yay) and my hype squad!

First HYROX in the books, and definitely not my last!

Last year, @alex.t.schmid and I came out to cheer on friends who were competing and decided that this year, we’d be the ones racing. We made a promise to keep it fun, not take ourselves too seriously, and enjoy the experience. Safe to say, mission accomplished. Couldn’t have asked for a better partner to take this on with.

Huge thanks to @crossfitboston and all the coaches for getting me ready for the challenge and saving me from embarrassing myself in the process.

And to all the friends who came out to cheer us on, document, and make the day that much more memorable, a huge thank you!

HYROX Boston 2026.

First off, HYROX is hard, y’all. It’s been 4 days, and my legs are still virtually worthless. Learned I’m not an endurance athlete (not a huge surprise as I don’t train like one). But I think I’m gonna run it back again next year…

Finished my second Hyrox tonight. Overall really happy with my time (especially given what life has thrown me in the last month) and they doubled the run for my division this year (so I did the full run like my able bodied counterparts - 5 miles plus fitness stations- one of which I did double distance I was supposed to (not by choice). More to come later when I have more bandwidth but a huge thank you to my coach @coachheidi_cfb , and @crossfitboston where I train, one of my best friends @marycasiellomusic and fellow adaptive athlete @coach.cdawg (who is racing on Sunday- go cheer her on) images are of me and those mentioned above and me in front of Hyrox sign

Swapped in pull-ups and rowing, met the crew, and checked off state 8/50 at CrossFit Boston ✅

Fall Faceoff 2026.

This is what it’s all about.

I had just gotten off a flight yesterday when I got a notification that Seth Lonsway had been called up to the big leagues by the San Francisco Giants.

I immediately pulled up the game on my phone, and as luck would have it, Seth was the next pitcher coming into the game.

Pretty damn cool to watch that moment unfold in real time…and even cooler knowing Kelsi, his wife and one of our absolute favorite humans, was there with their newborn twins and their family to watch him make his Major League debut.

There are years of work, sacrifice, uncertainty and perseverance behind a moment like this.

We’re fortunate at FEF to work with some incredible people chasing some pretty unreasonable goals. Getting to watch one of them become reality never gets old.

Congrats, Seth. You earned it.

Oh…and he struck out the first batter he faced! Let’s go!! 🔥⚾️

The Phoenix lost a bright light, a kind soul, and someone who understood that movement can be our medicine. Addiction sucks. Recovery is hard. And we cannot do this alone. But the beautiful thing is—we don’t have to.

@jplosker almost left the fitness industry after running @crossfitboston in survival mode through COVID but his passion was too strong so he decided to lean even harder into expansion.

Today he successfully owns 5 facilities in the city and surrounding suburbs of Boston, staying true to the special community he envisioned from the start across every location.

His biggest advice to other owners considering expansion is to let go of the desire to control everything and be everywhere at once. It isn’t possible.

Build a solid foundation at your first gym, hire a team who embodies your culture, then train them on the processes and systems that are proven to work.

Excited to keep supporting CrossFit Boston’s growth 💙🚀
