HYROX Anaheim Training | The Bala Family My younger sister Cynthia & my wife Jacklyn will be teaming up for the 1st time to take on HYROX Doubles Women together in Anaheim in December. I’ve been supporting both of them as their coach (locally for my wife & remotely for my sister) & also as a training partner for my wife since my sister is based in San Jose. My sister is 46 and my wife is 47 so they’re proving that age is just a number when it comes to taking on challenges/races. We can literally do anything as long as we believe, we train with purpose & we enjoy the process of what training can do for not only our physical health, but also our mental health. We’re now just about 6 weeks out & I’m so excited for them to team up and even more excited to be their coach/spectator for them as they take on this upcoming race! Hope my daughter Janae can be there too like last year to support! ——— HYROX Doubles Training | Mr. & Mrs. Bala Supporting my wife with her next challenge/race is my duty & my honor. I’m so proud of how she’s progressing and what she’s going to bring to her race with my younger sister! Today’s training looked like, PURPOSE: Compromised Running FOCUS: Run, SkiErg, Sled Push, Burpee Broad Jump, RAM Lunges, Wall Ball ——— HYROX Doubles Training | Mr. & Mrs. Bala Our finisher today focused on RAM Lunges (44/22) and Wall Ball (20/10). Legs were on 🔥! PS: I coach HYROX as part of CrossFit Tustin’s HYROX Training Club as well as offer HYROX Training for clients 1:1 (Personal Training), Semi-Private Training inside @studeo.fit, and thru remote programming. added something new to my weekly routine! @crossfittustin @studeo.fit where i can get in a private lift and one-on-one support with top notch trainers the space is clean, simple, and has everything you need. the sauna and recovery rooms right there make it so easy to get work and recovery all in one then headed into deeper recovery to focus on my back since i have 2 degenerative discs and scoliosis. chronic back pain is always something im dealing with did 15 minutes of theralight specifically for my inflamed discs, but it can customize to whatever pain you’re dealing with. after, i got a laser directly to my back which helped alleviate pain immediately. they have a multitude of recovery resources here for whatever your body needs. i cannot recommend enough!!

The Studēo | Train Well. Live Well. Inside The Studēo (pronounced just like studio) attached to CrossFit Tustin I’m focused on coaching clients early mornings Monday-Saturday with Semi-Private Training in a small group with up to 6 clients per session. Each client has their own personalized program based on the goals they’ve set and shared with me during their intake and assessment. We train with purpose and focus on core fitness training modalities ranging from strength, power & conditioning to mobility, flexibility, balance and stability. Here’s a glimpse of some functional movements I’m coaching clients on using a RAM from @_ramtraining and a plyo box from @roguefitness. DEKA MILE Gym vs Gym Challenge What a day! A huge THANK YOU to every athlete who came out this past Saturday for my DEKA MILE Gym vs Gym Challenge to compete, test, & celebrate your fitness! Despite the extreme heat, you showed up, embraced the challenge, & got it done. Every one of you earned your DEKA MILE mark & I’m incredibly grateful that you chose to be part of this event & support my mission as a DEKA Affiliate. I could not have done this without my volunteer crew. Luis, Thej, Ingrid, & Denisa - thank you for giving your time & energy to help judge athletes, manage check-in, assist w/ course setup, & stay afterward to help tear everything down. Your support means more than you know. 🙏🏽 Another big thank you to Dr. Justin of @revivalchirosport for being onsite to provide assessments & support for our DEKA athletes & for jumping in afterward to help with course teardown too. I truly appreciate you being part of the day & supporting our community. Last, but not least, Congrats to my 13 year old HYROX student Marx & his mother Barbara who does CrossFit for competing together as a team & earning your 1st DEKA mark! Truly & incredibly proud of you both! 🙌🏽 Thej started training w/ me as a client last year & has since taken another big step by joining classes at @crossfittustin. He came into this event w/ understandable concerns because of his history of ACL knee surgeries & because he had never officially raced or competed in DEKA before. So what did we do? We partnered up & took on DEKA MILE 2-Person Teams together for his very first official DEKA, finished the day earning 1st overall & he earned his 1st DEKA mark! Way to go Thej! I’m truly proud of you! You had your doubts, but I told you that you could do it. Now you know. This is what DEKA is about to me - not just times, rankings, or competition. It’s about showing up. Testing yourself. Building confidence. Celebrating what your body can do. And doing it alongside a community that wants to see you succeed. BEST weekend at wodapalooza!!!!! It’s amazing how much learning and growth comes with every single time I compete. I am truly amazed at what we can do with our bodies if we put our heart and soul into it, and that showed this weekend. I am truly grateful to be able to participate in such a renowned event and I’m stoked at the newfound motivation I have to better myself even more after this!!! Special thanks to @2w_johnson for being the best partner as always and for being my rock through it all!! You keep me sane lol (even when you throw up mid wod) Also BIG thanks to @jasoncarroll89 for being the most supportive and compassionate coach there ever was. I wouldn’t be where I am without you and it’s amazing the kind of impact you have not only on me, but every single athlete you set your sights on. Ain’t no one like you coach!! Also HUGE LOVE to my crew at @crossfitpleasanton !! Thank you for always letting me be part of the family and welcoming me back with open arms. Miss you all every day!!!!
