Elizabeth River Run 10K

Started this race in the rain thinking after running 10 miles yesterday, these 6.2 should be easy. 😂

Nope. Not even close. My legs had other plans. Somewhere around mile 2, I caught up with a friend who stayed nearby to pace me and honestly, he did way more than pace me. @tycorc91 pushed me, encouraged me, and helped get me to that finish line when my legs were DONE.

The moment I crossed that finish line, the shoes came OFF. My feet and legs had officially clocked out.

But the best part? Getting to celebrate my friends and their wins while accomplishing something I genuinely thought was impossible for me.

Over 16 miles in ONE weekend. 🙌🏾

Tired? Absolutely.
Feet destroyed? Without question.
Proud of myself? 100%.

Sometimes the victory isn't about how pretty the run looks. It's about showing up, pushing through, leaning on your people, and discovering that you are capable of more than you thought.

One weekend. One very tired runner. And a whole lot of gratitude.

Run Richmond 16.19

What better way to celebrate 41 than to lace up with some of my favorite people and experience Richmond in a whole new way? I asked my friends to celebrate with me by running 16.19 km through Richmond and they actually showed up!

This wasn’t just a long run. We ran through history, learning about Richmond’s rich and complicated past while experiencing the city from a completely different perspective. Every mile came with a story, a landmark, a conversation, a laugh, and a reminder of how special it is to experience life with good people beside you.

Now, let me be clear…the last two miles of hills were HELL.😂😂 At that point, my legs were negotiating with my mind, my mind was questioning my life choices, and those hills had absolutely no business being that disrespectful. But we kept moving, kept encouraging each other, and all made it to the finish line.

This was the perfect way to step into 41...moving my body, learning something new, creating memories, and celebrating life surrounded by community.

Yes...that is 16+ miles in one weekend. Unfortunately, 1 pair of my running shoes didn't survive the adventure 🤣😂

POV: You thought being a spectator at HYROX meant standing around cheering. 😂

Baby… THIS was a workout too! 😮‍💨 90+ minutes of running around the arena, trying to catch every challenge, every rep, every transition, the pain and hard-earned victory.

I felt the pain through the lens. I saw the grit up close. I witnessed the moments where they dug a little deeper and refused to quit. The struggle. The strength. The smiles. The celebrations. The memories.

And THESE WOMEN?! AMAZING. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Watching you push, fight, encourage each other, and finish strong was EVERYTHING.

So yes… I came to spectate. But apparently, I left with cardio.

Even after the darkest night, there will always be light.

I couldn’t sleep, so I got up early and joined @r.u.n757 for a dawn run.

Of course, it started raining. But honestly? It made the run even better.

Sometimes you don’t get to choose the weather, the timing, or how the night unfolds. You just get to choose how you move through it.

Find the joy in every moment.
Run through the rain.
Dance in the storm.
Keep going.
