After over a year on sitting on photos I decided to just start playing again. Here’s a photo of the Lizard Man @kingkomodo. It was meant to part of the mental health shoot (and I guess it still is?), but I guess it also represents me trying to get back into editing and shooting in general.

<<TL;DR: Datura Child raffle innit. Here’s some of the prizes. Tickets are $7 each, or $5 each if you get 3 or more. Hit up @davis.nardia here or on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100092480330320 if you want to get in on it. Or you can message me about it. I wouldn’t advise it. But you can. >> . . . Or, in other words . . . The fallen leaves are positioned to portray intricate scenes, like a timeline of creation, the dinosaurs all connected through a morphic field of some kind, the great psychic battle that eventually killed them, haphazard scattered leaves saying that evolution is decay, consciousness is illness, the damp grass a mattress, the moist air the warmth of a lover’s embrace, lights dancing and shimmering like the pages of a book when you read yourself to sleep at night, and then the words wiggle and squint out to black. If we ever wake up from this sleep we’ll try make it work. We’ll find a – DO NOT SLEEP Eyes shocked open choking on dirt, filled with the slobbering canine tongue of a creature that sneezes and flickers into the night. A choppy image forms through the rain, flashes familiar for second before blurring into watery static. Reminds you of something you forget immediately, push yourself up from the earth and struggle toward it, knowing it’s the source of something vital. The ground shifts around below as spawning puddles surround you in jest, gestural references to an earlier time, the horrible sensation of raw fleshed feet against gravel stirs memories. SHOES DRIVEWAY HOUSE Water? No. Need shoes. PROTECT FEET WALK ON GRASS Eyes wide blind in dim light sends you blundering into the searing gravel hot coals, feet screaming: WALK OFF GLASS PROTECT FEET Head back to the grass while the violet glow throbs behind the black sky, day waiting for night to finally drift into peaceful slumber, an overbearing weight from above, eyelids finally giving in to – STAY AWAKE Tasting gravel and copper pain, mouth drinks umami lava. Lights in the house are all off, so you get back to your feet and remember: STAY AWAKE

Mural for @skatecoven_nz’s HALLOWEEN JAM at @newtowndiy Part of the @cryptidcollective_ invasion with @daturachild and @t_clifton_ (alongside @irld34dgirl) I don’t often use brushes so it looks a little janky but it’s meant to be skated on so it won’t last long anyway. I started with pens and then I realized it wouldn’t be achievable in the time frame lmao. I didn’t realise I was being allocated the big chunk. About 9 hours of effort (over 2 days) but I started speed running it in the end because the event had started and I didn’t wanna be in the way of the skating (I still was), so I didn’t quite finish but I think it looks all good for what it is. Anyway, the jam is on now! Come through, there are prizes and also shit yarns.

The Mind’s Invisible Mouth Triptych of cryptids Part of the Dreams & Nightmares group exhibition at @covenant_nz $325 for set of 3 338x676mm prints Cryptids captured by ME Wizard: @daturachild Alien: @t_clifton_ Lizard: @kingkomodo Portraits were printed out and each artist hand drew their own design. Drawings were then scanned and blended back into the original portraits using photoshop. Text From @daturachild : It speaks in soft caresses of hieroglyphs scrawled along unseen alleyways of the skull, of mystical leeway and forgotten riverbeds. Passageways between cracked minds vanish overhead kaleidoscopic yonic eyes while the sonic vertebrate communicates oblivious surrogates oceans deep, sedating aphotic biology fearlessly. Genius urges give way to internal revolutions, hidden criminal leanings and rogue folk mantras. Moonstruck, the mad blurred lizard stares into the blazing Sun and laughs. Its smile is a slow motion dance with the Earth and its walk is a drunken song. The waking senses enkindle dead matter; at dawn, the burning Sun sets Fire to the sleeping Earth. At night, we undergo submersion; the wild winds of the intellect become oceanic and flowing, rising and falling in worship of the gravitational rhythms of the Moon, lunar tides breathing with the ebb and flow of a sleeping beast who has shed the burden of geometry, just another insignificant creeping thing in the swarming ecosystem of the mind, destined to dance and shout and glow in the confusion of existence without ever knowing why, until the preternatural Fire of day flares the eyes wide open to tend the world in isolation, remembering only that something was forgotten before forgetting even that, until we meet again. In that sense, life is just a dream that death forgets, leaving only a rusted human meat tree and the smell of dead perfume. Meditation’s luminous Fire flicks quick flashes exposing reality. Integration helplessly falters as the dreamer’s denizens hallucinate. #darkart #tryptych #illustration #portraitphotography #collaberation

ADAM AGAIN Some MORE scrawlings over some proof of concept pieces @adam_gallavin and I were messing around with the other day. Long form double exposure shots printed on gloss and then smeared(?) with smeary-goop. My fellow cryptids and I saw the last batch I made and decided to cook up some more each for a collaborative piece for our next exhibition As you all know, Adam is the ring leader of The Cryptid Collective and that makes him our band of misfits’ dad so you have to be nice to him because he’s cool and multitalented and because he sprained his ankle. #photography #abstract #doubleexposure #mixedmedia #artist #artgram #artistgram #fyp

The Lizard-Alien connection is strong Check out this piece by fellow Cryptid, @t_clifton_ You may know Tyler as “the sticker man”, for his cosmic work keeping the city covered in stickers written in his language (pretty sure he can teleport between them). Here we have depicted: one King Komodo, empowered by the writ Tyler and I have two similar yet distinct styles and if you like what I do, you will also like what he does. You should follow him, because he puts out more art than anyone I know. Tyler and I, along with @daturachild and @adam_gallavin have been working together to create things. You will see more of that as time goes on
