I attended a sketching event today, loved it so much.
Its magical when artistic minds come together under one roof.

@songxfm is a multidisciplinary artist from Singapore,
using the energy of graffiti culture and exploration to tell stories of the equatorial world,
creating modern mythologies that extend from murals and graffiti into sculptures, paintings, jewellery, stained glass, and music, archiving the mystical journey of his travels.

RITUALS OF BECOMING
As the 3rd stop of his travelling exhibition from Borneo,
SONG’s integration into ErXi came organically,
creating a trail across each floor to tell a mythical tale of Selung,
reflecting his travels and creative journey over the last 6 years across South America and Southeast Asia.

This exhibition features artwork collaborations with 3 artists from Borneo: @tribal12tattoostudio , @tekolasampe , and @chauxhien ,
as a ritual of connection and transformation to
embody Selung and bring a modern folktale from Borneo back to the Peninsula.

This marks the beginning of a new ritual within the sacred space of ErXi,
inviting the public to explore traditions and contemporary interpretations of mythology, spirituality, and the self—opening another dimension of our tropical magic island of Gitnusa.

Everyone has their own rituals to become.

What’s yours?

We’ve rounded up 8 things to add to your weekend list. Head to buro247.my for the full details.

Your weekend plans just got considerably noisier. 🔊

From KL to Penang, here’s what’s worth getting out of the house for from 18–21 September.

🇮🇩 Indonesian indie rockers Dongker roll into Malaysia, Ecilo brings his stripped-back techno pressure to Pisco, and Moutou gets suitably experimental with an analog electronic set.

Over at Qi, it’s Mark’s Birthday, while up north, Ruas and Soundmaker have a couple of gigs worth making the trip for.

Save this. Send it to the friend who always says “what’s happening this weekend?” and start making plans.

From Friday to Malaysia Day, KL is staying very, very busy. 🇲🇾

We’re kicking things off with dance music heavyweight 19:26 at Drip KL, before the weekend rolls into art, exhibitions, parties, bikes, and everything in between. New media art festival IMMERSIO 2026 takes over GMBB from 11 Sept with a stack of exhibitions and installations, SIMBIOSIS brings the late-night energy to BoboKL, and the city’s bike heads have their own two-wheeled gathering to get revved up for. 🏍️

Then, on Malaysia Day itself, we’re up at an unholy hour for SaturdaySelects’ Break-A-Dawn sunrise party. 🌅

Basically, your calendar from Friday to 16 Sept just filled itself.

My DJ sets usually reflect my ongoing musical curiosity, drifting freely through decades and styles. From deep 70s jazz-funk cuts to dubbed-out house and beyond, I let my selections be guided by instinct instead of genres - a conversation between myself, the space, and the crowd.

To give you a little taste of my musical offerings this Saturday night, I have picked 5 tunes and a lil bit more that might get you in the mood to parlay in PJ.

Space is limited, head over to @cryroom88 ‘s link in bio to secure your right to dance.
