CALLING ALL BOOK LOVERS✨✨✨✨ Do you want to read more, but feel like you don’t have time? We’ll fret not! Usually, the lack of community makes it harder to read. I found it hard to read without people to talk to, about the books I was getting through. I have created a fun book club for all book lovers (and architecture lovers) to join - SECTION / FICTION 🫰 @section.fiction come join the club!!!! #architecture #bookclub #bookworm #reading #architecturestudent

CSM Undergraduate Guide 2026/7 – a publication that provides prospective students with a taste of the vibrant energy of CSM life as well as showcasing the work of BA students and staff. The guide also presents CSM’s new visual language, brilliantly and beautifully designed by @martinmcgrathstudio and @leonidasliolios, with the addition of a more extreme version of CSM’s headline font, NaN Rage, used for the section divider spreads, appropriately encapsulating the anarchic spirit of the undergraduate students. A range of paper stocks and Pantone colours were employed to create a sensory and tactile experience for the reader and allude to the material qualities of making and workshop activity. The publication’s dust jacket is left partially untrimmed to include the printer’s colour bars, revealing traces of the industrial processes involved in production. A large part of the design role included sourcing and shaping content, providing an opportunity to communicate a nuanced story of CSM. Contributions include student and staff portrait series by @balintalovits (originally a student project in collaboration with @thats_so_csm) and photography by Fashion Communication Stage Leader Nina Manandhar @warriorprintess and @henritartist. Editors: Anisa Khatun, Corinne Bowen and Izabela Wudzinska Typefaces: NaN Rage Poly and Zipp by @nan_xyz and Alegreya by @htfonts Paper: @fennerpaper and @fedrigoni.paper Printing: @pureprintgroup @csm_news

This year's Maison/0 Green Trail Award, S School, drew together a remarkable group of projects that refused easy answers. Across the shortlist, students challenged conventional approaches to materials, systems, and production, bringing new modes of thinking to some of the most pressing questions in regenerative design practice. We are proud to introduce the shortlisted projects for this year's Maison/0 Green Trail Award, S School. @lvmh Jiarui Xu from MA Design @csm_madesign was shortlisted for this year's Maison/0 Green Trail Award, S School. Her project, "Soft Landscape", reimagines pastoral landscapes through jewellery worn close to the body. Informed by Mongolian heritage and nomadic impressions of grassland life, the collection captures moments of interaction between animals and the natural environment (land, water surface, open sky) rendered as brooches and earrings through an innovative hybrid wool felting process that blends colour, texture, and atmosphere into each piece. The result is a tactile, miniature landscape shaped by craft, material contrast, and cultural memory, made for grassland communities and for wider audiences drawn to narrative jewellery and the living traditions of contemporary wearable objects. @csm_pcid Jerry Shuncheng Lin @lshunch BA Architecture @csmarchitecture was shortlisted for this year's Maison/0 Green Trail Award, S School. His project, "Moo Moo Village", proposes a retrofit of an existing Dementia Care Centre, Sports Hall, and Nursery in Ladywell, reimagining them as a convivial, self-sustaining system with cows at its centre. Waste from one space becomes resource for another, and the circular metabolism of the whole is what holds the proposal together. The result is a neighbourhood infrastructure that fosters intergenerational connection and experiential learning, introducing animal-assisted therapy and play for a sensitive demographic, while grounding sustainability not in abstraction but in the everyday rhythms of care, movement, and shared life. At a time when cities are facing climate pressure, biodiversity loss and a growing need for accessible community spaces, Kelly Ka Wai Ma’s Shelf to Soil reimagines the library as a living civic ecology: part archive, part garden, part climate classroom. Designed as a space for gardening, plant education and community exchange, the project brings together a central library and seed archive with immersive temperate and aquatic biomes. These spaces invite visitors to learn, reflect and engage with ecology through the physical experience of growth, care and climate-responsive planting. With rainwater harvesting, passive environmental strategies, native planting, bioswales and a closed-loop hydrological system, Shelf to Soil transforms a post-industrial canal-side site into a living infrastructure.
