Meet CHASE!
This sweet young boy was on the run for more than 7 weeks! Our friends at CTDGRV never gave up on him. Countless nights, cameras, feeding stations, 300 posters, but this clever boy outsmarted everyone. Then he finally felt like he couldn’t go any longer and he let himself be saved. He arrived at the shelter scared, starving, confused. No microchip, no ID, no owners. But you know what love and care can do. CHASE is now gaining weight, loving cuddles, playtime, and all the attention he can get💕
He’s ready. He wants a HOME. One that he’ll never want to run away from ❤️🐾

Some rescue stories belong to one organization. Cora’s belongs to an entire community.

More than a year ago, Cora went missing just days after being placed with a new caregiver. For over a month, CT Dog Gone Recovery @ctdgrv worked with neighbors, tracked sightings and refused to give up until volunteers Jill and @mcarpenter2013 were finally able to safely trap her.

By then, Cora had spent weeks surviving outside in constant fight or flight, had nowhere to return to, and needed time to feel safe again.

That is where community connections mattered.

Volunteers involved with both CT Dog Gone Recovery and Lucky Dog helped create the bridge that brought Cora to us, where we found her a foster home and gave her space to decompress. (@gian_marco_emz @crazydoglady2424 @meglombomb @gvolpetti12 @kristenroeckle)

Now, her foster is moving and can no longer keep her, and in a full-circle moment, Cora is temporarily back with the community hero who didn’t give up on her, Jill, while we search for her next home.

This is what animal welfare looks like when people get involved: volunteers showing up, nonprofits working together and connections being made that can completely change an animal’s life.

Cora is still very nervous and needs a quiet, low-energy home with someone willing to give her patience, affection and time to keep building her confidence.

She is looking for a foster or forever home.

LOST DOG STILL MISSING. SWIPE THROUGH SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE. NORWALK NEW CANAAN FAIRFIELD COUNTY CONNECTICUT WILTON CT WESTPORT CT SILVERMINE.

PLEASE CHECK SECURITY CAMERAS AFTER THURSDAY 8/6 3 AM (early morning). That is the last time he was seen. THURSDAY 8/6. NOT YESTERDAY.

Please. Someone knows something. He did not vanish into thin air. We are out every day walking for miles and have had 25+ people canvass the neighborhood knocking on doors, as well as trekking into the woods, swamp, mud. He is microchipped and has a blue collar with tags on, along a giant red harness made of Kevlar. If it was a coyote (unlikely bc he is larger than some coyotes), we would have found remains or the harness.

Probably 3,000 people have laid eyes on this poster. If you took him, or hit him, please come forward. We need closure. We are begging you. Accidents happen. He was very old. I do not have words for this heartache. #Lostdog @ctdgrv @pawboost @homeagainpetrescuer

Hot weather is here, and we’re sharing a few simple tips to help keep your four-legged family members safe this summer!

Never leave your dog in a parked vehicle. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a car can exceed 120°F within minutes, creating a life-threatening environment.

Keep your dog hydrated by providing plenty of fresh water, especially during outdoor activities.
Don’t leave your dog unattended or tethered outside in the heat.

Check the pavement before heading out for a walk. Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds—if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

The safest place for your pet during extreme heat is often at home, where they can stay cool and comfortable.

Hey friends, happy #TonguesOutTuesday! Pree here with some tips on how not to get lost this weekend! Did you know that 4th of July and the days surrounding it are when more pets go missing than any other time of year? Wow, so glad I was found before the fireworks started when I got lost a few years ago! Since then I’ve come up with some helpful tips to keep your furry friends safe!
🐾Pree’s Precautions🐾
1) get your walkies in early before it gets dark, be well exercised so you don’t have to go out later. Be sure to watch the weather this year, it’s a scorcher!!!!
2) get your pawrents to put on some calming music (I love reggae or lullabies) or a TV show before the fireworks start. Maybe an Alexa by your crate or where you like to relax.
3) if possible, be behind another door besides an exit of your home. Honestly the more closed doors the better!
4) if you must go out make sure your pawrents have a good grip on your leash. We also recommend a secondary point of contact (you will see our dogs wearing a safety loop!) in case they slip their collar or harness. When in doubt double leash! You can never be too careful!
5) request a super yummy, long lasting treat! I love bully sticks or no hide chews. Puzzles are a great distraction too!
6) for extra peace of mind, if you have one, make sure your GPS tracking collar is charged and connected. We are partnered with @fi.dogs, check the link in our bio for the $20 deal!!
7) if you are very anxious with loud noises your vet might be able to prescribe some medicine. CBD will help too which many pet stores now carry!
