A Day of Service, Sisterhood & Celebration! 🏆

What an incredible time at the 2026 NAACP Harmony Classic: Sacred Heart vs. Hampton University! 🏈

Our chapter showed up and showed out, bringing home THREE awards from the Tailgating Party! 🏆🏆🏆

🥇 1st Place – Best Food
🏆 3rd Place – Most Enthusiasm
🏆 3rd Place – Most Creative

Beyond the trophies, we were proud to make an impact in our community by partnering with Yale to bring a mobile mammography van to the event, helping promote breast cancer awareness and access to important screenings. 🎀

We were also honored to have our Area 4 Coordinator join us for the festivities! It was a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with fellow Divine Nine organizations, connect with community vendors, and celebrate the spirit of unity and service.

From community outreach to friendly competition, the Harmony Classic was truly one for the books! 💙💛

Service, sisterhood, and a little friendly competition — that’s how we do it! 🐩✨

Foster care taught me how to leave. It didn’t teach me how to feel safe staying.

After years of different homes, hospitals, residential placements, and group homes, I carried that fear with me. Even when I finally met my real family, belonging wasn’t something I could switch on. I wanted closeness, but part of me was still bracing for another goodbye.

“I’m Afraid to Fall” by Micah Saint James comes from that place—wanting to let love in while learning that I don’t always have to protect myself from it.

Hi, my name is [Name], and I live in [Town].

Today is Wrongful Conviction Day, and I’m calling to ask Senator/Representative [Name] to sponsor legislation addressing actual innocence and credible newly presented evidence in Connecticut.

Isma’il Abdus-Sabur has been incarcerated for more than a decade. He told his attorney that his brother was the shooter, but his brother was not subpoenaed at trial. Years later, his brother testified under oath that he was the shooter, and the habeas court found that testimony credible.

Ineffective assistance of counsel can mean another court date. Actual innocence can provide a pathway home.

Will Senator/Representative **[Name] commit to sponsoring this legislation?

Thank you.

Free Abdus. Challenge wrongful convictions.

#FreeAbdus POWER HOUR: THE WORK CONTINUES ✊🏾⚖️

The oral arguments are over. Our advocacy is not.

Isma’il Abdus-Sabur has already lost more than a decade behind bars. While we wait for the Connecticut Supreme Court’s decision, we keep organizing for Isma’il and for every person who may have credible evidence of innocence but faces enormous barriers to getting that evidence meaningfully heard.

⏰ Give us one hour today:

✍🏾 SIGN + SHARE: Sign the #FreeAbdus petition and send it to 5 people. Our goal is 1,200 signatures before the 2027 legislative session.
