96 hours later, and I still don’t know if I’ve fully processed this one 🥹🌸

GoodWaves was a MOVIE 🎬 The biggest platform I’ve performed on thus far, and even a 20-slide carousel can’t capture what this weekend meant to me 😭

I got to bring PINQY RING to that stage. A SHOW that felt like ME. Hip Hop. Chicago. Puerto Rico. Community. Joy. Resistance. BARS. ¡WEPA! 🩷

What you see onstage can never capture the HOURS behind it. Planning. Rehearsals. Choreography. Transitions. Problem solving. The MONEY 😭. I am SO fucking proud of what WE built.

And WE is important.

I had THREE GENERATIONS of dancers onstage: Gen X, Millennials & Gen Z. 🥹 I even pulled @dancetanj out of retirement 😂 Tanji, Brandy, JC, Joei & Troy — y’all brought my music to life! Yuri threw down on the beatbox, DJ Manti held down the decks, and my best friend & stage manager @773songbird helped hold a million moving pieces together. 🩷

And MURS 🤯🥹 Thank you for SEEING me, believing in my artistry & giving it room to GROW. 🌱 @murs316 ✨

Y’all, I performed AFTER RAPSODY AND BEFORE DJ PREMIER?! 😭 Sometimes you have to stop worrying about what’s next and acknowledge where the fuck you ARE. I’m in alignment in all the best ways, and I thank my ancestors for that. 🕯️

Beyond the stage, I spent the weekend learning, building & connecting with incredible humans: Styles P, Killer Mike, Rapsody, April Walker, my homie Dee-1 & so many more. También… I INTERVIEWED SNOW THA PRODUCT 🤯

What is life? 🥹 But, Hip Hop has never been about proximity to famous people for me. It’s about BUILDING. Sharing knowledge. Opening doors & holding them open behind you.

I’ve spent years building when nobody was watching. Writing. Performing. Teaching. Traveling. Facilitating. Taking breaks. Starting again. Choosing Hip Hop over & over.

So to stand on THIS stage, with THIS team, performing new music after four years without releasing a record?!

Yeah. I’m letting myself have this one. 😎

I’m proud of the artist I’ve become.
I’m proud of my team.
I’m proud of the SHOW we created.

Chicago’s beat scene, rap scene, and brick & mortar community have shown me the power of chosen family. The people who show up, create space, open doors, and hold you up when you’re running low.

@groundwaveshiphop is that kind of family. 🌊

It’s more then playing on a stage, it’s a safe place where artists, beatmakers, DJs, and music lovers come together and pour into each other.

I wouldn’t be here without the people who continue to hold me up.
