Delightful knitting patterns 🧶 Never not making 🪴

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

2 finishes: the giant rectangle one is #mymourningshawl which was a pattern that came with a story/narrative by @mountaintopyarn and I want to say first of all that I thought the story was really good. I thought it was an inventive thing to have a pattern with a story attached. I am knitting from stash, so I tried to replicate the colors that were suggested for the most part, but I did deviate. The other thing is that when I hit the point that I got past the off-white/silver color, I started to seriously deviate. In other words, the purple section is not as big as it was. It was stretching so wide, and I got concerned for the integrity of the whole piece which as you can see it’s not perfect edges, but it’ll do. So I cut that section off short, and I also started to switch colors a little bit more and so the left-hand side of it as it is hanging up is using a lot more color than it would have. On the very first image, that’s the portion on the right that’s folded over, the green section. There is also nowhere near as wide as it would’ve been. And that was because I ran out of steam. It has been a year since I started making this to commemorate when Icarus died to try to work through all this compounded grief. And the other day I just looked at it and I said I just want to be done with this piece. So it’s not as long as it would’ve been, but it’s pretty hefty as it is. And I have nothing remotely like it.

The other piece is from @curioushandmade and I think that one might’ve been the Mithraem shawl? I might be butchering the spelling. That is as it was charted until I got to the purple section where, somehow in the midst of the madness of this past year, I miscounted so badly and did not realize it, and I wrecked the pattern so at that point, I just thought you know what I’m gonna do a bunch of garter rows and I’m gonna cast off and call it a day 🤣

Happy #scrappySunday. A lovely overcast rainy cool day to work on my #HabitationThrow by @curioushandmade , I’ve made decent progress in this & using up those leftovers.
Also @holstgarn posted a release of a pattern, “Odds & Ends”. Of course I had to CO , more use of really small amounts of leftover yarn , & I’m adding fringing so I don’t have to weave in ends
All in fun for #SkeinScraptober with @skeinyarn

👗🌺 Sunday stitching round up. 💕🧦

I feel like I haven’t really been working on anything at the moment because life has been busy. So I thought I would take some progress shots to see just what I’ve been up to. Turns out I was wrong…

🌺Peony socks by @curioushandmade and @daffodilroadyarn are just delightful. I have also been tinkering on a felted appliqué needle holder which is sweet.

October is breast cancer awareness month - as a survivor, currently in my 13th year of remission any fundraiser or activity is very close to my heart and want to partake when possible

I urge you to check out @louielolayarns page as she has lots going on this month in raising funds for a great cause

So in the spirit of it all I’ve purchased the Peony Sock pattern by @curioushandmade and have paired it with the yarn pictured by @circustonichandmade and cannot wait to start a new project this weekend 💕
