Meet Curt Buell, our man on the Hammond B3.

Curt has worked with CeCe Winans, Marvin Sapp, Tauren Wells, Jason Crabb, and plenty more. On “Goodness of God,” listen to what he adds around the rest of the band. That organ makes a difference.

Glad he’s part of Mountclear Jazz.

Full song at the link in bio.

So many people have been telling me how much they love “Slow Down” since its release earlier this year. One of those people is my very own piano instructor, the one and only @curtbuell . He is the founder and lead educator of the @thebuellinstitute , and he just spontaneously decided to cover some of “Slow Down” on organ during one of our lessons. It blessed me so much that I had to share it🙌🏽

If you or anyone you know is looking to take your piano/organ skills to the next level, make sure to check him out on Instagram and visit his website as well!

Today, I’m so excited to finally share our new single, “Goodness of God.”

I’m truly humbled by the amazing musicians and people I get to make music with. You can have all the ideas in the world, but it takes extraordinary musicians to breathe life into them — and every person on this single brought something uniquely their own.

And what better thing to make music about than how good God is.

Through every season, He has been faithful. I’m grateful that we get to take the gifts He’s given us and use them to make music that celebrates His goodness.

To everyone who poured their talent into this single — thank you. I’m truly honored to make music alongside people of this caliber.

And something that matters to me: No AI was used at any point in the process of creating or recording this music. Every note you hear was created, played, shaped, and brought to life by real musicians.

“Goodness of God” is available NOW on all major streaming platforms.

Hit the link in my bio to listen to the full single, save it, and add it to your playlist. And if it connects with you, share it with someone who could use a reminder today of just how good God is.

Thank you for listening and supporting the music. It truly means a lot.

Stop waiting for the “right moment.” Confidence comes after you take the first step, not before. Decide you’re ready—and move anyway.

Confidence will catch up to you.💪

God doesn’t call the ready—He equips the willing. Don’t wait for the perfect moment; trust He’ll meet you as you move. 🙏

🎯 Decide today that you’re done waiting—take one bold step toward your goal right now. Your future is built on the decisions you make today.

Lesson I’m still learning from over 10 years ago 👉🏻 “Ok, so what CAN I do?” This was the question I asked myself when I wanted to start recording drums at church years ago. Although we had a digital FOH board, we didn’t have multitracking set up.
.
In the bottom left corner you’ll see 2 interfaces stacked on top of each other. Also, if you look closely, you’ll notice the snare and the toms (also kick and OH you can’t see) are double miked! Also, I ran out of the keys and bass DI via 1/4” into the interface. There’s also an extra aviom on top of the interfaces running the vocal mix really low.
.
Simple lesson - instead of deciding you can’t do something because you don’t have all the things you think you need to do it the way you ultimately want to, ask yourself “ok, with what I have now, what can I do?” Many times, the experience you gain by working with what you have develops more in you than if you snapped your fingers and had all the gear you want.
.
10 years ago, I didn’t have near the gear I do now, but I did have 2 Presonus firestudio projects I got off of Craigslist, and they put in work for YEARS! I actually made a mobile tracking rig and externally set up everything myself at BOTT a few times before we had multitracking!
.
Also, before this setup I recorded with a zoom 3 channel field recorded, snare, kick, and built-in mics as overheads!
.
Also, Curtis and Drew are killing this remix of “We’ve Come To Praise Him.” I still have the Ableton session of this! Lol
