RISING, RISING, RISING: Our 72nd @FieldNotesbrand quarterly release “Hunter’s Moon” edition for Fall 2026 is out!!!

Inspired by the first full moon after the harvest, this two book set is a little bigger than our standard faire at 4.75” x 7.5” in dimension! Three black staples bind “Warm White” premium paper. One book is ruled with light ochre lines and the other is blank for sketching. AWESOME, and, AWESOME!

Our 72nd quarterly edition for the Fall of 2026 is “Hunter’s Moon,” named for the first full moon after the harvest. Known for the bright and warm light it casts on newly gleaned fields, The Hunter’s Moon serves as a mindful call to prepare for the quieter months ahead.

Michigan artist Laura Weiler @cutandplaced created the dream-like artwork for the covers using a unique gel plate method of monoprinting, layering collaged images, inks, and paints that are pressed and then transferred to paper.

Weiler’s artwork is reproduced on sturdy 100#C Mohawk Superfine stock. Three black staples bind 48 pages of Mohawk Superfine “Warm White” 70#T, an excellent premium paper that is ideal for writing and artwork across a variety of media.

‘Out with the old, in with the new’ – a phrase often heard when a new year begins. We printmakers may not have quite such a finite view on our recent work, but the idea that the turn of the year can suggest a different angle to your practice is one that we all recognise, I’m sure. The makers in this issue do this by allowing space for themselves and others in their artworks and workspaces – both literally and conceptually. Full of storytellers, educators and explorers, it’s packed with insights and wise words from artists whose creative practices are always evolving – like a never-ending story.

This edition sees one of our featured artists creating endless landscapes full of metaphors, whilst others harness traditional printmaking techniques to make children’s picture books that introduce young minds to captivating and curious concepts. Travel is a theme here too – taking yourself to spaces and places unknown can help to unlock different ideas, to find another voice or add new perspectives to your already established visual language.

2025 - a year of learning new things ✨ I can confidently say this year has been the best year of my life so far. Here is a little summary to celebrate this past years milestones and thank everyone for their amazing support xx

2. My first big overseas commission for @jamesstbne in Australia. Thanks to their wonderful marketing team

Today marks 5 years of the Pacific Northwest Collage Collective! It all started with Laura Weiler (@cutandplaced) and Kellette Elliott (@kelletteworks). They were in a collage show together and became friends. They were invited to a collage meet up a week before the pandemic hit. They remain in touch and decided that there were a lot of pockets of collagists around Portland, so why not pull them all together into one large collective!

Their first event was at Clive Knights Fencework Gallery (@knightsclive) for World Collage Day during the pandemic. An international open call. After that, they held two world Collage! days in Wenatchee, Washington at Collapse Gallery Wenatchee, WA with the help of Chad Yenney (@chadyenney). Many in the Portland metro area traveled to Wenatchee to see the show and collage together. We knew we had something good!
Our main goal was to connect and build community around collage. Collagists are some of the most beautiful people and the most kind people you could ever meet. We’ve had fun collaborating with @sharphandsgallery, @purposehandmade, @schnitzerfoundation, @powellsbooks, @cave.gallery.vancouver, local libraries and studios, @sellwoodcommunityhouse and more.

For the last few years, Kirk Read (@anotherkirkread) has helped run the collective with Kellette after Laura moved back home to Michigan to be with family. He’s been an amazing co-leader along with Cathy Aster (@cathyaster) who writes our newsletter each month and serves as a great support to us.

Thank you everyone that has come to our events, participated in our shows, and supported us through the last five years. We are so grateful.
