Convening young climate leaders and organisations across the 56 Commonwealth member states to drive climate action intergenerational equity

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As young women, we are on the front of the fight against the climate collapse. because of that, I will continue to fight for my sisters to have access to education so that they can actively participate in the decision-making process.

The #CSW66 Global Female Leaders campaign highlights key Global female leaders from around the world and #commonwealth countries.

“As a Brazilian young woman, I am committed to gender and climate justice because I believe young women and girls have a key role in fighting the climate crisis. I work as an advocate for this issue with a focus on education, because knowledge is empowerment. When decision-makers understand that girls’ education is directly linked to saving our planet, climate policy will become more intersectional, intergenerational, and more powerful.”

What an exciting upcoming event! There are very few silver linings to this panacotta we're living through 😬😥 but one of them is that many useful and relevant workshops and seminars are now available online so that you can attend them from anywhere, and often for free. Have you been able to benefit from any of them?

World Tapir Day is observed on April 27 of every year. A tapir is a large, herbivorous mammal, similar in shape to a pig, with a short, prehensile nose trunk. Tapir lives in jungle and forest regions of South America, Central America, and Southeastern Asia. The five existing species of tapirs are the Brazilian tapir, the Malayan tapir, Baird’s tapir, the Kabomani tapir, and the Mountain Tapir. The average lifespan of a Tapir is about 25 to 30 years. They require large space of undisturbed land to maintain a genetically-diverse population. Human activity threatens it – be that mining, palm oil plantations, roads or settlements. All the species of tapir faces the threat of extinction. It is important to save tapirs to save rain-forests and other habitats, thereby helping to save the planet and reduce the effect of climate change.
