MODUS OPERANDI presents “FIRMWARE” a Various Artists compilation. On this 12-track release, we invited artists whose sound resonates with the vision and aesthetic of the label, bringing together a selection of established artists and emerging talent from across the scene. To embrace our vision of sharing the sound of Budapest with a wider audience, six Hungarian artists were invited to capture the sound of the the local scene.

PUR returns.
-
After a packed night at Pōneke’s newest club, we’re stepping back in on June 6 — bringing another late-night sweaty cardio session to the capital.
This time, we link with Breakaway to deliver a double headliner lineup and an audiovisual experience.
-
We’re proud to bring Valerie Ace as part of her NZ run.
A driving force out of Berlin, with releases on Intrepid Skin, Haven, and KAOS, and appearances at Tresor Berlin, RSO Berlin, and Fold London.
Followed by NZ’s techno don and HAVEN owner Keepsakes, known for his heavy hitting and eclectic sounds.
-
Local support from CYXQRD and PUR owner Flipit on a b2b to ease into the heavy session.

Surprise! PUR is back on May 2 with another night of techno in the capital :]

We’ve put together a local lineup to take over one of the newest venues in town, powered by a custom-built Third Eye HiFi sound system.

Come through for a sweaty one and show some love to the new venue.

Okay so last minute changes! Please read :)

In case you missed it: Feral can no longer perform this weekend. We’re wishing him a full recovery.

Rather than cancel, we’re reshaping the night into an extended local techno community edition — we are still partying with a purpose: to fundraise for @twistedfrequencyfestival so that they keep providing artists with a creative platform.

Please note our changes:
1- We will have @cyxqrd gracing our ears instead of Feral
2- We will no longer have the Breakaway soundsystem and will have Moon’s but with some tweaks 😈

All tickets remain valid. If anyone feels the changes no longer suits them, we’ll honour refunds within 24 hours.

9pm-02am

Let’s bring the community together for a good cause!

CYXQRD is a Wellington-based techno producer and DJ. With a passion for deep, soulful techno that is felt as much as heard, his music explores the deeper realms, inner journeys and complex emotional states of the human condition. His ever-evolving sound spans dub techno, house-infused floor-fillers, through to contemplative techno – a hypnotic, transportive and driving rhythm that captivates.
Despite being a little late to the party, since producing music from 2022, his sounds have been released on international labels including UKR, Citrica, RAVEU, Point Nemo and TAMR. Alongside numerous private events, he has DJed at multiple local PUR parties, Carbon 1, and CAYA 2 at il Brutto, with sets lasting anywhere from one, through to ten hours. CYXQRD is playing cdjs

As a reminder that all electronic music is made of synthetic fart sounds or insect sounds, tune of the week is Hornet by Pearson Sound. Had fun switching up to breakbeat/electro in the middle of this deep & dark techno set.

The photo in the middle is from Martin Creed's neon artwork on Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna O Whaiwhetu. More info: https://christchurchartgallery.org.nz/exhibitions/everything-is-going-to-be-alright

I'm not sure that everything is going to be alright though…
