𝐂𝐑𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐆𝐄𝐒 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐔𝐌 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐓 ✔️The Regional Artist Showcase event I participated in, was an absolutely surreal experience this past weekend. A solo opportunity in a prominent museum 🤯

A huge 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to everyone who joined me for this momentous event. I loved seeing the steady flow of visitors and connecting with so many of you. Your hugs, conversations, and well wishes made the weekend truly special. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the main lobby to see my work, came out to support me, and invested in my art. Artwork was SOLD at my set up and then also in the gift shop!

I’m also incredibly grateful to the Crystal Bridges Museum team for advocating for my work and offering me this unique opportunity, especially over a busy fair weekend and with some powerful exhibitions happening in the museum. April & Quinn….Thank you for going out of your way to make me feel seen and heard. It means so much ❤️

I hope you enjoy these snapshots from the weekend, some 📸 got lost in the mix as there was a lot happening! Managed to keep and sneak in a pic of my set up outside the gift store and in the main lobby.

I’m working through messages over the next few weeks, so thank you for your patience.

This past weekend I traveled south to Bentonville, Arkansas to write about the monumental expansion of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art! Ever since I watched the “State of the Art” documentary about one of the museum’s exhibitions in 2019, I have been intent on making the trip out, and so the invitation this Summer by a PR agency in tandem with the museum was quite serendipitous.

Sometimes press trips are solitary excursions, but in this instance, I got to meet and reconnect with great writers and journalists from New York, Chicago, and London! I was also excited to finally meet my artist friend Cindi, to which we embarked on a few adventures through some of the town’s galleries and the Walmart Museum (Walmart is the linchpin of so much in Bentonville and the surrounding areas).

If you love The Whitney Museum (which is great), then you will love Crystal Bridges … about ten times more considering the expansiveness and diversity of their art collections, programming, and educational initiatives. I’ll have more thoughts to share on that later in my fleshed out piece …

The museum’s satellite location, The Momentary, is also a wonder worth visiting! Lucy Sparrow’s true-to-scale, all-felt replica of a 1980s & 1990s-era Walmart in tandem with an exhibition of San Antonio-based conceptual photographer Chuck Ramirez (1962 - 2010) could easily consume one’s afternoon with the exciting array of works on view that were cogently displayed in a great curatorial framework.

Oh, too much to express and a finite amount of characters to fit in a post! More highlights to follow …

Happy 5 year anniversary to this special project! 🖤🤍

The first house that I made a home. Looking back at these photos has me reminiscing of that time in my life. I remember I didn’t allow anyone (family or friend) in this house until it was finished. It was a long process living in a renovation, but honestly I would do it all over again. @codymoore might think differently though ;) I wanted each room to feel thought out and put together. My black and white era. I still love it so much to this day, and thank you to @athomearkansas for featuring it back in 2021. This makes me excited for my next home!
