Dear actor…

If an actor can’t act your action line, delete it. No one can ‘think about their childhood’ on camera

Start your protagonist mid-crisis instead. It buys you ten pages of immediate audience patience.

Don’t Blink: In a tight close-up, blinking breaks the character’s focus and spills the tension. Hold the camera’s gaze to lock in power.

Acting is Reacting: The scene isn’t about your lines; it’s about how the other person’s words physically hit you. Be on the Look for the subtext.

This is the second time I’d be directing this play in the span of two years. The first time this play crossed my table, it was love at first sight.

Sour carrots is a beautiful satirical commentary on the infidelities in some marriages and it intrigues me as much as it cracks me up.

The characters are multidimensional in that it rubs off on the entire spectrum of the human condition.

The words in the dialogue are plain and simple in that it feels as though it holds you by then hand and walks you through the story.

The funniest thing about this comedy are the punchlines that jabs you in the ribs to crack them when you least expected. Some of the jokes are so layered you’d be reeling in laughter when you finally get them days after you’ve watched the show
