Raised differently. Delivered incredibly fresh. 🌊🐟

A fascinating visit with Amar Seafood, where Atlantic wolffish and PEI halibut are raised through sustainable, land-based aquaculture with a focus on healthy, humane conditions that allow fish to grow as nature intended.

And talk about fresh — fish can go from PEI to market within just 13 hours.

It’s innovation like this, combining sustainability, animal welfare, quality and freshness, that is helping shape the future of seafood on Canada’s Food Island. ❤️

Day 2 of our Toronto Chefs Tour was packed full of food, fantastic hospitality, and behind-the-scenes adventures with PEI’s incredible farmers, processors and restaurateurs.

We started the morning off with a tour @abpibeef by Andre, where the chefs saw first-hand the high standards of quality and care taken with our @peicertifiedbeef

Next we headed to a @Lobster_PEI processing plant tour with Tim and got to meet a 35-year old (approx!) lobster 🦞

Then it was on to Summerside for a tasty lunch @bogsidebrewco with @famouspepperspizzeria @craftersbbqandgrill and a great chat with Dave, the owner.

The afternoon included a fantastic tour of Abelaine Farms, where we met Abe & Elaine’s herd of 35 dairy cows and some of their cows. We learned a tonne about @dairyfarmerspei and the many products @adl_pei makes, including over 60% of Canada’s feta and a large percentage of the country’s sweetened condensed milk!

We wrapped up the bus tour with a visit to @deeprootsdistillery where Scott and Stacey shared the stories behind some of their craft liqueurs, offered up samples, and even had a ‘make your own liqueur’ station for the chefs. To top it off, Todd from @adl_pei was on-site offering up an array of their cheeses for pairing.

And we closed out the evening with dinner prepared by @chefloo and his team @ada.culinarystudio . What a feast it was - featuring @Lobster_pei @PEIcertifiedbeef @PEI_Mussels @PEI_potatoes @ADL_pei butter @soleilsfarm vegetables @canoecovehoney and more!

An epic adventure, thanks for joining us here on Canada’s Food Island - @dachascooking @chefnuitregular @chef_sol_mason @listerlikesfood @paitoronto @dschwa92 @chefjeffkang @perfectpearco

Huge thanks to Andrew from @pei.tasting.tours for driving us and keeping us safe 🙏

Day 2 — and another incredible day around Canada’s Food Island table. ❤️🍽️

Today was all about connecting our visiting Toronto chefs with the people, passion and stories behind PEI food.

🥩 Learning more about happy, healthy and humanely raised PEI cattle which gets processed at Atlantic Beef Products
🦞 Getting a behind-the-scenes look at lobster processing
🍺 Connecting with entrepreneur Dave McGuire at Bogside Brewing in Summerside for lunch
🐄 Experiencing Island dairy farming at Abelaine Farm and learning more about ADL
🥃 Tasting some uniquely PEI flavours at Deep Roots Distillery
🍽️ And wrapping up an incredible two days with a beautiful dinner at Ada Culinary Studio, showcasing some of the very best PEI has to offer. Connecting with Lobster PEI and experiencing a day in the life of a fisher on VR

I’m always reminded that what makes PEI such an extraordinary food destination isn’t just what we grow, raise, harvest and create — it’s the people behind it.

So grateful for people who love good food, great conversations and gathering around a table. And especially grateful to the incredible chefs who travelled from Toronto to experience our Island firsthand and learn more about our people, products and place.

Thank you to everyone who opened their doors, shared their stories and helped us showcase why PEI truly is Canada’s Food Island. ❤️🌊

What an incredible Day 1 touring Canada’s Food Island with some of Toronto’s best chefs 😀.

First, we headed to the North Shore to ‘sea’ how oysters are grown and harvested with @raspberrypointoysters. Thanks to Charlotte and Riley for getting us out on the water, shucking and tonging!

Next up, we headed to Stanley Bridge to get on a mussel boat with Bobby and the crew from @atlanticaquafarms.

We then found our way to Vernon Campbell’s farm, where he and his team are in the middle of @pei_potatoes harvest season. Finally, wrapped up the day with an incredible family-style feast @northshorecanteen

Such a delicious day - thank you to all the wonderful folks who hosted us, fed us, and helped showcase our incredible food island.

What a fantastic day sharing our Prince Edward Island, Canada’s Food Island table with an incredible group of chefs from Toronto!

Today was all about experiencing PEI through our people, products and place from world-class oysters and mussels to Island beef, potatoes and wolffish, finishing with an incredible family-style dinner at North Shore Canteen. @alexfitzgerald____ that dinner was 👌🏻!

There’s something pretty special about gathering around a table, sharing great food and connecting the talented people who grow, harvest and create it with chefs who are just as passionate about food. 🦪🥔🥩🌊

A huge thank you to Charlotte, Bobby, Mark, Vernon, Phil, and Chef Alex, for helping make today so memorable. Special thanks to all of the Toronto chefs who made time to join us and learn more about what makes Canada’s Food Island so special.

Proud to share a little taste of what makes Canada’s Food Island so special. ❤️

We had the pleasure of traveling to Elora for their annual “Elora’s Longest BBQ”. Part of @fooddaycanada it was incredible to see the town transform for this festival!
We stayed @elora_mill hotel & spa - stunning doesn’t even begin to cover it 🤩 but the real story was the people - warm, welcoming and true professionals from start to finish. The kind of hospitality that makes the work feel fun! Our team knocked it out of the park!! Thank you Ash, Emily, @ddmack83 @dachascooking @brookefoley17 and the Elora community 🙏🏼🔥

Celebrating #ElorasLongestBBQ 🍗🍔

Happy Food Day Canada!

One of the many reasons I love my hometown of #Elora is our local food scene. It’s not just the amazing food—it’s the people behind it. The owners, chefs, and staff are what make our community so special, creating places that bring people together and make everyone feel welcome.

Yesterday was a great reminder to support local and celebrate the people who make our hometown what it is.
