POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sunday was incredible. ❤️

While some people were running a marathon (absolute legends), I was at the Fire Pitch playing in and photographing a charity match put on by @teamcharlimae

A HUGE congratulations to @feileacainfathers on the win! I hope you enjoyed your time in Chicago and had a smooth journey home!

Alongside 43 other men, I took to the pitch to raise money, show support, and play in remembrance of so many angels who are no longer with us.

For those who may not know, Team Charli Mae is a foundation dedicated to helping families who have experienced the loss of a child. Through its work, it brings families together, provides support, and helps create a community where they don’t have to navigate their grief alone.

B.E.A.R. FC was created to provide a safe space for men who have experienced the loss of a child. A place where they can kick a ball, build friendships, open up, support one another, and continue to represent the children they carry in their hearts.

Thank you to Dean for allowing me to be part of such an incredible event and giving me the opportunity to help in any way I can. You’re an absolute hero.

A huge thank you to my good friend Sam for joining me in capturing photos and videos, helping ensure the families who were there on Sunday have memories of that day to look back on for years to come.

And thank you to every friend, family member, and supporter who showed up. Whether you donated, played in the match, brought snacks, came to watch, or simply asked questions about what the team is building, you were part of something special.

I truly believe football (or soccer for us Americans) can bring people together like nothing else on this planet. While I haven’t personally experienced the loss of a child, I’m grateful to be an advocate for these families and to use the game I love to show support and help share their stories.

Although Sunday’s match is over, this is only the beginning. 👀

The donation link is still live, and there are some big things coming soon. If you or someone you know would like to get involved, please reach out to me or Dean.

See you soon 😉

The second dads soccer pick up takes place this Friday, June 12th from 6:30-7:30 at Veterans Park, North Riverside.

Established for bereaved dads, it’s an opportunity to get together with those who have shared similar experiences for a safe space to get active.

No soccer experience necessary, this is a welcoming place for those dads interested.

Following the pick up, we will also go to @jamesjoyceirishbar for a few drinks to watch the USA World Cup opening game.

If interested, please let us know!
