5 years in the game & I still really have a love for the Trucker Lifestyle πŸ₯ΉπŸš›πŸ’“πŸ˜Ž Yall, trucking is really what you make it! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I’ve done it all at this point from flatbed, to reefer, living full time in my semi truck driving cross country, running all 48 states, becoming a trainer, hauling containers, being local & everything in between πŸš›πŸ˜Ž And I can honestly say I wouldn’t change my path one bit. Yes, Trucking has tested TF outta me πŸ˜­πŸ˜‚ exhausted me, challenged me, pissed me off more times than I can countπŸ˜‚ but it has also given me some of the BEST experiences of my life, allowed me to discover so much about myself, generate the most income I’ve ever touched, and give me the freedom to live a life I’ve always envisioned 😭πŸ₯ΉπŸš›πŸ’― I’ve seen the entire country from behind a windshield. I learned how to be alone. How to figure shit out. How to handle pressure. How to get myself out of situations with nobody there to save me. I’ve made money I never thought I would make, experienced things I probably never would have experienced & learned sooooo much about myself along the way. And through ALLLLL of it, the good, the bad & the things I probably had no business making it through πŸ˜‚ I know it was nothing but the Lord’s protection, grace & mercy that kept me covered out here πŸ™πŸ½πŸ₯ΉπŸ’“βœοΈ my relationship with God has grown tremendously and I am forever grateful . This career even led me to creating my own clothing brand @prettyasatrucker where I create custom clothing & accessories for all the girls working in male-dominated industries πŸ₯ΉπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ©· & gave me an even bigger purpose within the industry πŸ₯Ή Trucking has changed my life in so many ways. It ain’t always pretty, it damn sure ain’t always easy πŸ˜‚ and I DEFINITELY take my seasons of breaks from trucking when I need to! but 5 years later I can still say I LOVE what I do. There is no perfect time… There is only: Now . Sometimes we spend so much time waiting to feel ready that we don’t realize starting is what GETSSSS us ready !!!! You start. You suck. πŸ˜‚ You learn. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to have a very full life, that wasn’t only about the concept of work. πŸ₯²πŸ«‚ I absolutely knew I wanted to grow up to have the freedom to travel, live well, create memories, take care of people, give to those in need, have an amazing group of people around me, live in luxury, and do something that impacted the world 😭πŸ₯²πŸŒŽπŸ’― You can ask ANYONEEEEEEE who has always known me . πŸ˜…πŸ₯Ή Because of that, I’m so blessed that I found a career that I actually have a passion for, and that allows me to make all of those other things a possibility 😭πŸ₯ΉπŸš› ALL Glory to God !! because I remember hitting a certain point in my life during college when I was severely depressed & it led me to realizing that I knew I wasn’t living in my purpose. πŸ₯²πŸ«‚ I found my escape in cross country truck driving and becoming a full-time entrepreneur. Something I have always been, but never even realized what that word was.πŸ˜­πŸ˜­πŸ™ŒπŸΌ I even was able to create my own clothing brand @prettyasatrucker where I create custom clothing and accessories for feminine women and male dominated industries πŸ₯ΉπŸ’“πŸ›οΈπŸ”₯ But on top of all that, I make sure I live a very full life outside of the work I do. I travel, I visit family, I make friends and connections. I go out and do things by myself that I want to do!!! and even though my life is very far from perfect, I do try to get myself to live the fullest life that I can. I complain BAD sometimes but baby… I LOVE THE GAME. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜­πŸš›πŸ’Έ The independence, the challenge, the money, being one of the only women around and knowing I can hold my own in an industry like this. πŸ˜ŽπŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ But one of the things I love MOST about trucking is the woman it’s shown me I am. πŸ₯²πŸ’―πŸ™πŸΌ This industry has put me in sooo many situations where I’ve had no choice but to figure it TF out. πŸ˜‚ Whether it’s something going wrong with the truck, backing into some ridiculous spot, navigating somewhere I’ve never been, dealing with unexpected problems or just having to make something happen when the original plan goes completely left. πŸ˜­πŸš› And somehow… I ALWAYS figure it out. πŸ’― That’s probably one of the things I’m most proud of about myself. I’m a problem solver. I can think on my feet. I can handle pressure without folding. And every time I make it through another situation I didn’t know how I was going to handle at first, I leave a little more confident in MYSELF. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’ͺ🏽 And doing all of that while still being every bit of the girly girl I’ve always been is a huge part of why I created my brand @prettyasatrucker I wanted women in male-dominated industries to have something that represents ALL of who we are. & YES, I drive stick shift… 10-speed semi-truck to be exact πŸ˜ŽπŸš›πŸ€­πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Fun fact: I learned how to drive stick because my very first car was a manual πŸ˜‚ My Freshman year of college I bought my first car CASH, the best car in my budget was an old, nice cute lil 96’ Honda civic, stick shift πŸ˜­πŸ˜‚πŸ₯Ή My MOM taught me how to drive it in ONE HOUR, my dad gave me an extra lesson the next day, and within 72 hours I was on the highway rollingggg πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‚ Fast forward, I decided to become a truck driver later on & knowing how to drive a manual truck was pretty much a MUST. Thankfully, because of my 1st little stick shift car & the lessons my parents gave me, I already had the foundation. πŸ₯ΉπŸ«ΆπŸΌ I got my CDL in a manual truck and started my career driving cross country. I got into my first automatic semi when I went to Prime Inc. πŸš› & I haven’t been back in a manual since But… I just started with a new company and they asked me, β€œCan you drive a manual?” & you already know I said Of course I can πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜ŒπŸ˜‚ Crazy how buying the best car I could afford as a college freshman ended up teaching me a skill I’d still be using all these years later. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’• Definitely glad I have this one under my belt! Sounds like a fair trade to me πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ŽπŸš›πŸ’ΈπŸ’• When I left college to pursue entrepreneurship and become a cross-country truck driver 5 years ago, I know there were people who didn’t understand my decision. To some, I probably looked β€œtoo girly” to be out here driving an 80,000 lb truck across the country πŸ˜‚πŸ’…πŸ½ and to others, leaving the conventional path I was on probably sounded crazy. But one thing I’ve learned is not every idea God places on your heart is going to make sense to everybody else. It doesn’t have to. βœοΈπŸ™πŸ½ Sometimes you have to trust God enough to follow the path He’s leading YOU down, even when other people don’t understand it yet. Trucking has taught me how strong, disciplined and capable I really am. πŸš›πŸ’ͺ🏽 And the same woman who can put in long hours, maneuver that truck and handle the pressure can clock out and enjoy every bit of being the girly girl she is. πŸ€­πŸ’πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚πŸ’•πŸ’…πŸ½βœˆοΈ I work hard so I can travel, take care of myself, invest into my businesses and enjoy the life I’m building.
