For this historic Federation home on the Mornington Peninsula, our landscape architecture team worked onsite with the client to curate the planting scheme.

Guided by the estate’s rich history and established landscape, the team explored its renewal in real time, allowing the site itself to inform the vision.

Melbourne, that was something special. ✨

Last Friday at Hannah Street Hotel, Southbank, we gathered for our Flourish Long Lunch and let a card from the @consciousleaderdeck set the tone for the afternoon.

We opened with three simple questions around the table.
🌸 Who are you outside of work?
🌸 What are you bringing in this year?
🌸 And what do you need support in?

And from those three questions, the room opened up entirely.

We talked about motherhood and womanhood. About the years spent existing for others before remembering to come back to ourselves. About energy, where it goes, who takes it, and whether we even know how to ask for help without feeling guilty. About protecting peace, picking your personal boardroom, and the courage it takes to slow down and reconnect with your why.

And this one stayed with us: it can be a gift to hear what you need from other people realising it about themselves.

What a room full of extraordinary women. To @daisy_riches, thank you for holding such a generous and honest space. And to @graciesandles for such support on the day. 🌸

This is what Flourish is all about. See you at the next one.

Introducing @daisy_riches, our guest panellist for the Flourish Melbourne Long Lunch this coming 31st July. ✨

A Senior Associate at DKO and an experienced landscape architect whose work sits at the intersection of design, wayfinding and environmental psychology. Known for an approach that is both pragmatic and poetic, she brings imagination, clarity and a deep belief that places have the power to connect us.

At our Long Lunch, Daisy will be in conversation with @the.artcurator, drawing a card from the Conscious Leadership Wisdom Deck as a starting point. An honest, unscripted conversation about leadership, community, and what it really takes to build something meaningful. After the conversation, the card goes to your table.

We are so looking forward to having her in the room. See you on Friday 31st July. 🌸

We often talk about integrated design, and how for us, this means creating meaningful spaces as well as maximising a site. Early integration means a better outcome for the client, the end user and the public.

At Station Square, Junction Place, the architecture and landscape were considered together from the beginning of the design process. This enabled us to integrate in a more considered way — creating a stronger dialogue between building and place, maximising efficiency and creating a generous and memorable arrival experience and urban realm.

Listen as Senior Associate, Daisy Richmond-Smith and Associate, Christine Eid discuss their approach.

“When we’re looking at trees, I think that they’re not just environmental, ecological infrastructure. They’re also social and cultural infrastructure. I’d also add that they are emotional and psychological infrastructure as well.”

- DKO Senior Associate, @daisy_riches.

Daisy joins @michael.of.rush.wright (@rush.wright.associates) and host, @taroby on the STORIESINDESIGN podcast to discuss landscape architecture.

What makes trees so powerful and symbolically rich across human cultures, how do we use them in design, and what exactly is ‘tree infrastructure’?

We’ve just wrapped up a beautiful Flourish networking event at Hannah Street Hotel in Melbourne, celebrating International Women’s Day 🌸

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us - stepping away from the week to connect, share meaningful conversations, and support one another made the afternoon truly special.

Our theme, Give to Gain, is at the heart of what we do. When women share their time, knowledge, and encouragement, momentum is created and new doors open.

The room was full of genuine conversations, new connections, and the generosity that makes the Flourish community so inspiring.

Feeling grateful to be building this network together.

Here are some beautiful moments from the day, captured by @CarysHughes 📸
